Syracuse University students shelter as police search for homicide suspect: media

Students at New York's Syracuse University were told to remain indoors on Wednesday night as police investigated an off-campus crime and searched for a homicide suspect in the area, the school and local media said. Police also asked students and members of the public to stay out of Oakwood Cemetery, which borders the private university in the city of Syracuse in central New York. Local media reported that authorities were investigating a homicide and searching for a suspect who might have fled into the cemetery.
