Taxation without representation still in effect?

The Boston tea party was an example of free speech for a democratic government. After long debates, the government was forced to remove the taxation without representation...but did it?

Ever go to the store and wonder why you have to pay 8 extra cents for a .99 cent item? Advertisements always tell people that "you can get this for a buck" or "you can get this for under a dollar", and yet you don't pay that dollar that they promise. Makes you wonder if taxsation without representation is still in effect.
