Text in red

I've been wondering this for some time now, but only just got around to asking it.

Why is it that, on certain threads, a particular word will come up in red?

I noticed it, first of all on a thread about suicide - every time somebody wrote 'suicide' it came up red and bold. And every member had it so it wasn't like something one or two people were doing.

I then saw it happening again on a thread about Chester's new tattoo, the word 'tattoo' came up red and bold too.

Can someone please explain why this is?

Hmmm that is weird... I know for a fact, that when you search a specific word, and then go to a thread, the word that you searched is highlighted in red. but from what it sounds like, you didn't search these threads...if you didn't than I don't know :\

Actually now you mention it, I'm pretty sure that I did search for suicide in the Dark Room, because I wanted to see people's opinions on it.

But I didn't search for the word 'tattoo.' What happened there?

I have also seen this in another threads, not that I have searched for a specific word but when I go to a certain thread some words are in red and also bolded,I wonder why could this be

Actually it is quite possible the person writing the post could have made the word red themselves ;)

There are all types of colors to choose from

At least it isn't just me who has noticed this then.

I can't think of why this would happen. When I first saw it, I thought it was something people were doing on purpose. But when I saw it again in a different thread I realised that it probably wasn't intentional.

I'm really curious as to why this is happening.

Well as far as I'm away, I didn't deliberately make it do that... and I know I didn't run a search for 'tattoo' but it still came up highlighted. I'm really confused now lol.

That is incredibly weird. The only time I've ever seen red text is when I search for 1 keyword as everybody else says. It doesn't just randomly highlight a word in red I don't think. I did make a sentence red once in my blog but that's about it! Hmm well it is a mystery.

It probaly highlighted the word tattoo because you clicked a members link to it, and they searched for it. That happened to me about 5 minutes ago.

Oh, would that be why? I considered that but thought it wouldn't affect me because it wasn't me who actually searched for it. I mean - if I'd found that thread just on the thread list in the LP Central board, that would have been a link as well, so I thought that it just being a link wouldn't have counted. Hmm.

Well, it places something in the link that highlights that certain word. So then when you click on the link it highlights it.
