xXMelancholiaXx Posted January 3, 2007 Share Posted January 3, 2007 The Cure were definitely one of the pioneers of the Gothic Rock genre along with Bauhaus, Siouxsie & the Banshees, O Type Negative and Christian Death. I never really got into them though as a lot of Gothic Rock and Death Rock was very punk influenced. I prefer Gothic Metal over Gothic Rock anyway.
