I don't know if it's all just seemed to happen at one time or what. But what do you think could happen next? But hey, they lived thousands of years ago and they can't keep making thier day planners that big! What I mean to say is, just because they stopped recording days doesn't mean thats the end of them. If they really did know when the world was going to end, surely they would have known of the Spanish conquistadors, ya know? Anyway, I don't think the world is going to end. The planet has been in much worse shape then this before with world wars, ice ages, and for the natural disasters category try the Tri-State tornado or Galveston, Texas on for a look. Crazy stuff like this has always been happening. Sure this year was a little crazier then usual, but heck, thats the way things sometimes. The tsunami disaster was really tragic, but I find it kind of futile to call every disaster that happens the End of Days. I think God is trying to tell us something, but personally I don't think that means a hill of beans to the people causing all these problems to begin with. The war on terrorism is faught world wide. Not with armys but with sleeper cells and federal authorities. Plus the whole Iraq thig. Pestulance. Check. Aids, Cancer, Mad Cow, West Nile, Avian Flue,etc... Theres dieseases everywhere. Famine. Mad Cow has caused Canada and American beef industries to be hit hard. Not exactly an all out famine, but it could be the start of something bigger. Death. Not quite sure what the bible means by that. Maybe thats the final ending of the planet. But this is were the Bible gets tricky. Revelations is a pretty bizarre book, and most of it honestly makes no sense because it uses so many symbols and figures of speech. The catch about the four horsemen is this - war, death, famine, and pestilance have been around since the dawn of man, and this is very far from the worst of it. In the first half of the 1900s, we had WWI and WWII and two of the worst epidemics in human history - the spanish flu during WWI and polio during WWII. And the Middle Ages make this look like happy camp. The four horsemen, in this sense, have always been nigh. What the Bible is saying here is that when the horsemen arrive, it will be like nothing imaginable or concievable by the human race. I think that obsessing over the end of days is some peoples' way of just coping with the world, of rationalizing the things they see. But, alot of that has to do with the people who colonized North America in the first place - hell fearing Puritans. I don't think we are anywhere near the end of the world personally. But hey, thats my opinion.
