We are turning on each other, LP.com forums are falling apart, with people dissing Lp on their own boards.Same with LPF, people are starting to argue with each other just because MTM dosent suit their personal prefferance. Now MTM is not that bad! Its know MT, or HT but its still LP, so get used to it. Now I like LP because they were different, they have done things that know one else could comprehend, JZ/LP for example. And then when thing were to good to be true they made lies, all the controvesy surrouding HT and around then. Yes, nu-metal made LP and LP helped make nu-metal, and yes they are changing because times are changing. But if you look at todays band, eg: the ones Lp are touring with on PR07, they are all "today's style" not all necessaraly EMO, but jus like todays nu-metal, well anyways, LP amongst them are still differant even in their new form. And maybe LP have reached their peak, but im not going to abbandon them. They are still great and i admire them in every respect because they are great. The fan base hasnt changed though. The album has a different sound, so its probably just shocked people. they will come around in time. Of course the fan base has changed, people have grown up since then... fashion has changed... still though LP seem to be sitting pretty with a fan base which has already catpoulted their video 'What I've Done' to number 1 in most rock video channels & to the 7th most played artist on Last.fm (originally around 30th a month ago) before the album had even come out. Large fanbase a good band does not make.... The are far better bans with a far smaller fan base because they havent been marketed and exploited to death. People have to learn this stuff folks LEARN IT! Im fed up with having to explain how invalid these points are, do u think Christina Agularia makes amazing music or how bout Avril? The BEST bands are usualy discoverd late in their career or even after it, Pixies where unknown when they were in their prime then Nirvana happend to mention them... then boom. Also bands that go threw a couple albums on indie labels before making it big (Modest Mouse, Elliot Smith & Kings Of Leon) for example are often farrrrrr better artists then those with a 'Smash hit debut' because those bands with such a big break threw are often just designer bands. A band doesn't necessarily have to be innovative to be great. For me it lies withing the lyrical capability, the presentation, and their ability to expand. I'd choose Linkin Park over Modest Mouse any day. MM isn't as big as they could be for a reason. It's not a matter of selling out its a matter of being good. Immortal Technique never sold out he never even reached for a record deal and yet he is one of the most popular underground rappers out there. Anybody who really goes beyond the radio to listen to rap knows him. And they know his music as for Modest Mouse yea they are doing their own thing...but so is every other indie band(or whatever the genre for them is) which in a way makes it unoriginal. but anyways lp will loose fans but they will also gain so it works out in the end. ce'st la vi or however u spell it Quote ¿whysoserious?
