Is it just me or could this song be taken as referring to Hurrican Katrina somehow? Talking about how the President just didn't seem to care? I could definitely be wrong, but what's your opinion?

one of my favorite songs, the lyrics hit home so deeply and the song ******* pwns

plus Mike singing the entire outro piece is amazing

I loved it when I first heard it but when he said 'The levees are breaking' I started the song over and listened again. XD It's one of my favorite songs too.

Yea I realise all that too, and somehow do like the song as-much anymore, but its also mention in the outro hook of Hands Held High

The first time I heard it I knew that's what it was about

it was kinda obvious to me

It's definitely talking about Hurricane Katrina. But it is not talking about the President, but rather the nation in general. I don't think I can agree with their perspective that the nation did nothing. It's sad that it happened, but after the Hurricane, there were a lot of efforts done to help get people back on their feet. I for one went to Mississippi to assist, and there were a lot of fundraising efforts and a lot of communities taking in displaced people from the area and providing jobs and such.
