The mark of the beast

Isn't the mark of the beast supposed to be connected with a particular person and pledging your allegiance with him/her. I can't imagine being condemned to **** for something as generic as a credit card or a 'mother tattoo' if it is not actually connected with the mind set of 'turning your back on ***' and 'accepting/believing that the anti-Christ is a supreme being'.
I have an interesting, maybe even somewhat off topic, story about that...Want to hear it?? Huh? Huh? I'll tell you anyway. (Sorry, I'm in a really happy mood right now)
This is a little funny, and a little scary. So, I met this guy on facebook through an NSX page (you know, friend request, blah blah blah). He would come on to the chat function occasionally and ask me if I had gotten the NSX yet. I'd say no, and that would be about it. So after about two years, he started chatting about politics and stuff. then he made some kind of racist comment that got me started about socio-economics being the problem, and he said, no there's more....Okay, I'll bite, what? Then he told me there are these aliens...wait, let's back up...He told me he talked to *** and some angels recently, and not to de-friend him until I had heard what he said. Then he said he was the son of ***, and there had been many like him through the ages. More specifically, he said he was Lucifer and the anti-Christ. Why didn't I de-friend him at this point? Because I'm a very curious person and I could tell if he was serious or messing with me. So then I started asking questions, making sarcastic comments that he seemed to take as serious, and tried to find the holes in his story and point them out to him. It was quite a story. This went on for a few weeks until he said something about messing with me and I said yeah I was torn between 'messing with me or crazy.' At which point he got offended saying he knew it, I wasn't really on his side, I was a b h, and to email him when I got the 'mark' tattooed on me showing that I was on his side. He said the 'mark' was a small 666 tattoo. So, crazy or messing with me?

People are equating the idea that some day transactions for goods and services will all be electronic and a .gov ID or a biometric chip would be necessary to buy or sell goods, may be the biblical prophecy come true.
