The Melbourne Linkin Park Experience And The Return Of LPE!

Hey everyone!, Remember me LPE?

 

How's everyone been the last few months I haven't been here? :-P

Well heaps has happened to me in the last couple of months and the 1 major thing that happened to me was getting to see Linkin Park both nights in the front mosh when they were here in Melbourne, Australia.

 

Anyway I thought I would come back and post my story considering not many on this forum are from Melbourne.

 

(14/10/07) DAY 1:

I get up at 3.30am and blast my stereo surround sound system up with Linkin Park while taking a shower and getting ready to catch the train at 5.20am... At this point I was jumping around singing to all the songs and just freaking out saying "OMG, OMG, OMG I'm finally getting to see my favorite band live in concert."

 

5am: I ring a taxi and wait 5minutes for it to get here then of to the train station I went still singing all the lyrics to all the songs.

 

5.25am: Still waiting for the train and oh.. wait.. Is that the train finally coming? And it was!!! finally I said after waiting an extra 5minutes... Lucky it wasn't that late.

 

5.30am: I get my tickets and then I went to sit down on the seat still tired but still to excited to get some extra sleep so I stayed awake for the whole 2 hours it took to get down to Melbourne.

 

7.30am (aprox) I get into Southern Cross Station... I got off the train and then walked out of the main station area and took a tram straight to Rod Laver Arena... (Yes I'm being seriours.. I was so excited... that I wanted to wait there ALL DAY just to see my favorite band)

 

7.45am: I get to Rod Laver Arena and I went and I saw the big trucks parked outside the loading area and the Linkin Park tour group and the Australian tour group were unloading the trucks with Linkin Parks equipment and I was like amazed how many speakers and everything that was getting unloaded so I watched them do that until they finished.

 

It would of been about 8.30am: And I walked back around to the 'Secret Door' to sit down and wait all day (There Is this door that usually isn't used for concerts because it's an unfair advantage to get wristbands for the mosh-pit but lucky for me it was used for the first night).

 

At about 10am this girl comes and looks around the arena wondering why theres hardly anyone around and I go up to her say you here for LP? And she said sure am! So we waited and talked and all that until a few others came and started waiting at the secret door.

 

4pm: I go look around the front main area where people are meant to wait and there was a bunch of people waiting out there and I was laughing my head off because I was closer to the wristband areas with only another 10 people hahaha.

 

5 - 5.30pm: The doors finally open and we are let in... So I run like mad to get my wristband and I got it then ran straight past the security guards who were trying to stop me and I just forced right through them with another 200 people to get to my waiting door (5).

 

Anyway I'm just there talking to other Linkin Park fans and just meeting some great new people and all and just having the time of my life and then it finally reaches the time for us to rush to the stage.

 

6.45pm: Doors open.. I run like MAD! straight to the front right area of the stage (Where phoenix was playing most of the time, And also the same area Chester fell and broke his wrist (more on that later)... Anyway we all get told to sit down so we all sit down and I get someone to save my spot so I can go to the toilet. Anyway I come back and then wait another 10minutes and then some group of friends on the floor get up really quickly that courses everyone to panic and get up flying fast and run forward to the stage. I gave my front spot up to this guy so i wouldn't get bruised by the bar holding the crowed and I was just behind him (So second line from the front line) which may I just add... It's a lot more fun to be just behind the front people because they are like your protection LOL... And you can jump around like mad behind the front line.

 

Anyway... 5minutes and then the lights go OUT! I'm like, and the crowed is like OMG!, OMG!, OMG!!!

The NMS intro starting with the curtain up and I was just still so amazed that I was right up the front right near the stage... Anyway Brad starts with his guitar and Rob starts with the powerful drum beat and me and my friends start clapping and the crowed joins in with our clapping! (So we are the ones who started the clapping) And then 1minute and 42secs (Of Youtube mobile video lol) into the intro Brad starts the NMS guitar bit and I was like.. here we go... This is it... IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!

 

Then... There is silence! And the curtain drops and the lights come up... And there they are!!! CHESTER RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! I WAS BLINKING THINKING IT WAS A DREAM! lol... I was so happy that this was it... And I was singing all the lyrics at the top of my voice so loud that some girl had to exit the pit because I was so loud LOL, and So loud that even the people on the lower seating could hear me!!! both sides of the arena! (I know this information because over 20 people came up to me after the concert commenting how loud I was and commenting how they cracked up laughing at some of the random shit I yelled out onto the stage for Mike and Chester and the rest of LP to hear LOL.

 

Anyway... After Mike said he would like to play some more music for us, I yelled out "You guys can do that any FUCKING TIME you want!" and the crowed starts laughing with me while I watch Mike try not to crack up laughing.

 

Anyway... just after Linkin Park went of stage I started yelling out "1 more SONG!, 1 more SONG!"

And the crowed joins in with me again and LP come back out on stage and finish there setlist for the night.

 

 

And that was the story of my First ever time seeing Linkin Park live... When I get a chance I will post what happened on the second night including a full report on what happened in my eyes when Chester fell right in front of me at the 2nd show (15/10/07)

Thanks you guys and yes I had the best 2 nights of my life down In Melbourne.

 

I'll try and get the second part up asap but just kinda really busy getting a job transfer and all that at the moment so it's taking up some of my time. Anyway... for any who were wondering... I purposely left out the Chris Cornell guest opener... Cuz he just sucked! Big Time!... And he went on for over 1 freakin hour! Both nights... I had to put up with him playing 2 hours of his gay music lol

 

Anyway so just add another hour on 7.45 (8.45) Is probably when LP started playing.

 

Anyway I'll try my best to get Part 2 up in the new few days.

Ok... Here is the second part for everyone. =) (There's probably going to be heaps of spelling errors and all

 

that because I'm writing this out really fast but I did my best for it to make sense) Hope everyone enjoys it!!!)

 

***THE QUEST TO MEET CHESTER*** Part 1

 

I wakeup at 9.30am with a really really bad throat and I can hardly speak without sounding like some old

man lol... And I go and make myself a hot drink. Then after my throat feels a little better (I was way to

 

loud LOL)

I went out from the Arden St Motel trying to find out

what hotel Linkin Park was staying out and I found out from someone, at this point of time I didn't go straight

to there hotel

because usually international bands like exploring Melbourne so they probably wern't gonna be at the hotel for me

 

to get a chance to meet one of the band members (I was hoping to meet Chester) so I decided after tonights

 

last show I would follow them back to there hotel to see If I could get a chance to meet Chester.

 

Anyway I decided to go back onto some random tram to find tram 70.. then I got on that to get back to Rod Laver

 

Arena and I looked around to see if anyone there was waiting and a few came up to me saying did you go to last

 

nights show and I said yeah and they said dam.. I missed out on there first show but I'm going tonight and I

 

said Ohh.. awesome.. And they thought there would be people camping out to get front but quite surprising there

 

was hardly anyone around. Anyway I just wait at RLA til about 12pm then I went onto a tram to get to the Burke

 

St KFC to get some lunch also get a discount because I work for the corporation and had some quick lunch there

 

while people were saving my spot in the line (First Person) LOL. Anyway.. I explore Melbourne for abit and then

 

I go back to RLA at about 2pm and there Is a few more waiting out the front gates and then I go around to the

 

secret door again to wait with a few people... But unforently a security guard came out and said the door

 

wasn't going to be used for tonights show because people complained it is unfair how people got wristbands

 

before the people out the front did but i serisorly didn't see the big freakin deal... All the people who came

 

early and gave up there whole day to wait in line were already at the secret door and the people who just got

 

there at about 2 - 3pm... were out the front waiting so I didn't see the big big big deal about it all but meh

 

what can you do.

 

Anyway all of us go to the front area and just sit down in front of the gates with the others and just wait and

 

time just went extremely fast... Anyway I go to the toilet and someone kindly holds my spot in the line and then

 

when I come back this girl calls me over and says I remember you.. And I was like.. umm.. you do? And She said

 

yeah at Evanescence and I was like ohh yeah hey.. umm how are you (still trying to figure out who she was)

 

anyway I talk to her for a little bit then go back into my spot in the line. Then It was time to go in again...

 

I run up the stairs and straight to the same place we got our wristbands for the first nights show and then I

 

get a blue wristband (which means front General Admission) and the other night it was a Pink wristband that

 

meant Front General Admission. Anyway I run back to the same doors as the other night and believe it or not but

 

50 - 70% of the people who were waiting up the front right near the door were the ones who went to the first

 

show as well... And the other 30 - 50% were the ones who didn't see the first show and they were blocking there

 

ears because they didn't wanna get the freakin awesome intro spolit for them hahaha and I said to them It's

 

probably going to be a difffrent setlist you know... Anyway... We get to go in and I run to the right area of

 

the stage again (and lucky I did.. I think we all know why!) anyway I sit down on the floor like everyone

 

else and wait and wait and wait... Then me and my mate quickly get up and the crowed follows us freaking out

 

once again hahaha... Anyway still near the spot I was the other night I still was right up the front behind the

 

1 line of people hahahaha... anyway Gay Chriss Cornell goes on for another 1 hour or so playing his stupid

 

music so when he looked at me... I gave him this evil look back with my group of friends saying BOOO!! Get off

 

the stage! GET LP ON!!! lol. Anyway he finally finishes his same setlist well at least I think It was the same

 

setlist because It sounded like the same way he did things the first night.

 

Anyway... Wait... There's a problem... after Chris cornell gets off the stage... They try and lower the curtain

 

and it wont unfold... LOL so they had to bring the pole holding it down to unclip it manually waisting another

 

15minutes of everyones time (The crowed is getting really restless at this point) anyway they finally fix the

 

curtain up and they raise it again then another 7minutes and thats right... The intro starts... And it wasn't

 

NMS... It Was OSC!!! And I was like FUCK YEAH! It's a diffrent setlist YAY YAY!!! lol. And I started going mad!

 

I started the freakin clapping again! and then silence hits!! the lights turn off... And there they were for

 

the second night and I started jumping around singing even louder then the first night and Chester spots me

 

again and his like FUCK! LOL He smiles at me and (fuck that cant be good for my voice box) LOL... Then when he

 

starts the SHUT UP WHEN IM TALKING TO YOU, SHUT UP!! SHUT UP! lol... ANd I yelled that out so loudly you can

 

see Chester freaking saying fuck.. I think he found it hard hearing himself LOL... so thats why you see him

 

jumping around more to the left of the stage area. Because me and my mates are just too loud for him hahaha.

 

***THE SETLIST OF PAIN*** Part 2

 

Anyway after a few songs in, Papercut intro finally starts with Mike talking about when he was a little kid and

 

how he used to listen to alot of hip-hop etc then he dedicates the song... "Do we have any people who have been

 

down with Linkin Park for a long fucking time?" And I Yell out "FOR A VERY FUCKING LONG TIME!!!" lol... Then he

 

says "Hardcore Linkin Park fans?" I said YES RIGHT FUCKING HERE MIKE!!! and he actually looks at me and smiles

 

at me =) Then he says... THIS IS FOR YOU! And then if you have seen the youtube video you know what happens

 

next. Then the guitar starts and Chester jumps have he usally does for Papercut on live shows and then he trips

 

and falls straight back onto his arm/wrist (That's why alot of people named there youtube videos broken arm

 

blah blah blah) when it was just his wrist. =) And I was like... FUCK!@! was that emant to fucking happen...

 

and I stp singing and im like in silence watching Chester... and his in so much fucking pain.. you could hear

 

him missing some of the lyrics to papercut and I was speechless... so i just kept watching him and he was in

 

sooooo much pain... and he put it out all into the music.

 

Then he keeps doing the songs and I'm like your a crazy crazy human being Chester... and he finally gets it

 

checked before Numb and Mike tells the crowed was is going on (I however already knew what was going on..

 

because that type of fall... You know your gonna break something) so anyway Mike is like "I think chester broke

 

is wrist a coulple of songs ago" and thenh is like "Lets ice this up or something" and then Chester comes back

 

onto the stage and I hear 1 of my mates in the pit somewhere yell out... "Now, THAT"S FUCKING ROCK N ROLL" lol

 

and I was laughing my head off lol.

 

Anyway Chester says "This is a first" because his got a Ice-bag on his wrist... and I yell out "Only IN

 

MELBOURNE CHESTER!!! ONLY IN FUCKING MELBOURNE!" Then I wissle out to him and say "GOOD ON YOU MATE!" and then

 

my mates are yelling out all this other stuff to keep him strong. =) It was such a powerful night... Chester

 

was giving all his anger and all his emotions into the songs which I must admit made history For LP in

 

Melbourne... It was just so powerful you have to be there to see it.. Mobile phone videos don't get all the

 

emotion as actually being in the pit right near the stage watching Chester express all his anger and pain into

 

his music and for having that much dedication towards your fans, LP will always be my favorite band. And Mike

 

is like still amazed right through the the whole rest of the setlist towards Chester =) Then they finished off

 

with Faint then they quickly got off stage so Chester could get his wrist looked at in the hospital.

 

Anyway... So I decided I wouldn't go to there hotel or the nearest hospital, but just keep in my mind that

 

Mike, Chester and Phoenix all gave me a smile and a wink because they heard alot of the stuff I was yelling out

 

and for the dedication to the fans even after Chester breaking his wrist he kept on going right to the very

 

end.

Well actually... I didn't have the internet for a few months... and then I got it back on. And then decided to come back... But people have mixed opinions about me on this forum and that's fine. There was a reason I left... And the main reason I came back was because some people wanted me to. But like I keep saying.. your entitled to your opinion.
