The Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. has recorded a solo album.

Guests include Strokes front man Julian Casablancas, the band's manager, Ryan Gentles, Sean Lennon and Ben Kweller

Titled Yours To Keep it'll be released on the Rough Trade label in the UK in October.

This doesn't mean the end of The Strokes. But when the band passed through Australia recently Jay and the Doctor heard how drummer Fab is already thinking about life after rock.

"Something I realised when I landed in this hemisphere. I wasn't even out of the airport and I realised I wanna retire here."

I'm not a Strokes fan, but Rough Trade is an excellent record company with some excellent class act artists.

Ah...I was actually hoping this meant the end of The Strokes. No offence if you're a fan...I just can't stand their music.

I'm hoping the guy will bring some better stuff solo than with the band then...
