as a one time increase in
our troop strength in Iraq for
the purpose of giving the
Iraqis breathing space so
they could resolve their differences.
The "Surge" has failed on
its two basic premises.
1. The withdrawal of the
troops added because
of the "Surge" has been
slowed or will be stopped
completely
2. Though given the breathing
space to resolve their
issues virtually nothing has
been resolved.
Therefore, the "Surge" is
a failure.
