I can't speak to the statement regarding Repubs but I have been told by a friend who works for DCF(department of children and families) that they have a higher occurence of child sexual abuse in religious families.I thought paedophilia was rife in the republican sect, and in the church?

Because nothing they say makes sense. The only reason they have views at all is because they oppose whatever view the Republicans have.
Without an actually study taking other factors into account I wouldn’t place much value on that analysis. When a person has a pre-formed view of something they will often notice the cases that agree with that view while passing over the cases that disagree with it. Then you have to take into account that 80% of Americans claim to be Christian while only 13% claim to be agnostic. Now if 2% of adults are abusive, then out of every thousand you would have 160 ‘Christians’ and only 26 ‘agnostics’. Does this mean that more perverts come out of the Christian religion? No, it just means that more people claim to be Christian.
Just because something makes sense, does not mean it is true. Religion is a great place for a predator to hide as well, but there can be many explanations, such as the one above.
The difference is that Liberals have no real views. They have no platform. They just stand around waiting for the Republicans to make a move so they can take up the opposing view.

The law listed in the top of this thread is an example of neo-tampering with the rights and liberties of the American people. This law, like so many laws made by neoscum of various types, needs to be overturned.
The Supreme Court told George Bush that he overstepped his authority when he created the prison at Gitmo and Bush is trying to fight the decison. This is a tell-tale sign of Bush family corruption and it is ABSOLUTE GROUNDS for Bush's impeachment.
I am not a liberal by any stretch of the imagination but we as Americans cannot allow neoscum to steal our liberty. We have to do whatever it takes to keep neoscum out of office and we must do whatever it takes to get the current neoscum out of office.

T-O-R-I didn’t say that, Builder did. I honestly do not believe that you know what 'neo-anything' really is. Bush is not a neo-con. Unfortunately, in the childish attacks waged against the administration by the ignorant, the term 'neo' continues to come up. I see very few neo-anything on either side of the fence. I just see a bunch of people with different views, the same different views they have twenty years ago or more. Some talk about what they believe and some do something about what they believe. Those that actually do something about what they believe are labeled radicals by those who prefer to do nothing. That law is taking no liberties away from anyone who deserves to have them. I have not had my liberties impeded on and, unless you are a pedophile, neither have you.
What is your complain about the Prison? Is he secretly rounding up American citizens that oppose him and shipping them there? How is it impeding your liberty? Isn’t your name on here ‘TERRORIST-HATER’? Aren’t you the one who goes around talking about blowing up the Muslims and wiping out terrorism? Now you are going to sit there and complain because we have military camps set up to hold those associated with terrorism. Perhaps you should change your name on here to ‘TERRORIST-LOVER’. Or, perhaps you feel we should just shoot them rather than putting them up in a comfy prison camp.

I never said I was opposed to the prison. What I am opposed to is a president who blatently ignores the judgement of the Suprme Court.
President Bush is required to adhere to the judgement of the Supreme Court and he outright refuses to do so. This is not the behavior of a non-neocon/neo-liberal official.
I don't like the idea of releasing them to their prospective countries; however, the Supreme Court of the United States of America has ruled that the US Government DOES NOT have the authority to hold them as prisoners of war. THE USSC further ruled that Bush DOES NOT have the authority to order military tribunals for these individuals. Bush REFUSES to budge on the issue. This is a CLEAR violation of the law and a total and complete abuse of the system. For this reason alone Bush needs to be impeached and banned from ever holding office again.
