Tiger Woods used superb short-game shotmaking, what had been a major worry only weeks ago, to surge onto the leaderboard Saturday at the Masters. The 14-time major champion birdied four of the first eight holes in his third round at Augusta National to reach the turn on four-under 32 and stand six under overall for the tournament, nine back of leader Jordan Spieth in a share of sixth place. Woods, who has fallen to 111th in the world rankings, went three-under over the first four holes at Augusta National for the first time in his Masters career. Woods pitched to six feet and made his birdie putt at the par-5 second hole, pitched to two feet to set up a birdie at the third and landed his tee shot 10 inches from the cup at the par-3 fourth for a tap-in.
