Timeline For This Weekend

I finally freed up enough time to get this place upgraded. I do need one thing done in advance. I need someone, phreakwars you listening, to modify a couple Photoshop files which are attched. One needs GF added to replace "your logo here". One needs The best **** debate forum added to replace "your slogan here". The link psd have to be edited for gallery, blog and arcade and a new one made for chat. The last one, for a dark style, nav_but.psd, needs to be duplicated so we have one for the arcade, gallery, chat and blog. You can upload finished product here.

After that is done here is a timeline of what will be going on.

We will have an updated gallery, new blog system, updated arcade. Userpages will take some time to get working so they will be off until I get to the fixes. There will be a new system to buy points that can be used for a whole lot of ****. Too much to explain right now so I'll let you find out for yourselves. Lets just say the days of ******* thy friends will be taken to a new level.

Sometime tomorrow morning I will shut the site down.

Step 1: Prepare DB and remove the plugins we use now.

Step 2: Upload the files and run vbulletin upgrade scripts.

Step 3: Remove old styles and upload and enable the new ones.

Step 4: Add in one by one the gallery, arcade, new blog, updated chat, shoutbox and new **** your buddy system.

Step 5: Optimize DB and open back up.

This will be a huge task and I expect to be down most of the weekend. I'll keep everyone updated as to what is going on.

I have to work a split shift today, but I'll get on them after I get off of work. Unless someone else once to do it before I get home, just go ahead, and post the images in this topic.

As for "**** OVER YOUR FRIENDS" I already know. :D Should be some great fun.

ah **** it, here's one.. I'll work on em for a bit. I will upload them in 2 formats. .PSD and .JPG, If you need a different format, let me know. This is a slop job version, cleaning up and adding F-X, will post final in a bit.

Just a quick update. The test upgrade is going extremely well. In fact userpages do work. It only took me modifying 4 lines of code. So that is a plus. The only thing that doesn't work is the blog, but, I was changing that anyway and I'm in the process of installing it now. Next to test is FYB. If that goes ok then I'll start the upgrade.

A few queries take a long time, over an hour, due to the db size so that is slowing everything down.

I have to say the new style looks nice. Here is a sneak peek.

This had been delayed a bit. Ran into some problems and as soon as I finish the fixes I'll close down and upgrade. Sometime this evening if all goes well.

As you can see the upgrade didn't happen. First I had some code changes I had to work out. After that was done I got a call from a client that had a network problem. By the time I got them back up and running it was too late to finish the upgrade.

I will get it done this week. The test went well and everything is ready to go. All that needs to be done is to copy the new files over and run the upgrade scripts.

All I have to do is free up about 6 hours. Parts of the upgrade take over an hour to run because of the size of the database.
