to i need to uninstall nortan and avg for MSE to run properly?

we have 6 pcs in a network, do we have to totally uninstall nortan and avg, to make sure that MSE runs properly? we are having inermitant problems only when one person goes onto google maps or google earth and there are a;; people on network, seems like a dsl issue or ip address issue to me, but one IT guy came in last week and said it was security problem, the 2 or 3 causing it. if we do can we get norton back for free without paying for it again, if we try to uninstall and it doesnt work? norton and avg are not running, to the best of my knowledge, or when this happens again, how do we tell what security is running or multiple applications?

i dont know what beta or not beta means??? learning from my history?
