WorldNews Posted May 17, 2016 Share Posted May 17, 2016 SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea has named a career diplomat with broad experience in negotiating with rivals South Korea and the United States as its new foreign minister. North Korea's Embassy in London informed the British government in a statement Monday that former Vice Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho has been appointed as the country's new foreign minister. Ri had served as the North's top negotiator in past nuclear disarmament talks and participated in rounds of talks with the United States in the 1990s. He also served as the North's ambassador in London. Seoul analysts say Ri's appointment is seen as a possible bid to revive diplomacy and improve ties with the outside world after renewed tension surrounding Pyongyang's fourth nuclear test in January.
