A son of fugitive Mexican cartel leader Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada Garcia has pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges and is cooperating with the American government, US authorities revealed. Arrested in Mexico in 2009 and extradited to the United States the following year, Jesus Vicente Zambada-Niebla entered a guilty plea in April 2013 before US District Chief Judge Ruben Castillo in Chicago. His written plea agreement was made public for the first time Thursday. The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) said the conspiracy involved the distribution of "multiple" tons of cocaine during that period, with hundreds of kilograms distributed on a monthly or weekly basis.
