U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq at 3, 527

As of Monday, June 18, 2007, at least 3,527 members of the U.S. military
have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an
Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians. At
least 2,888 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's
numbers.

The AP count is 10 higher than the Defense Department's tally, last updated
Monday at 10 a.m. EDT.

The British military has reported 151 deaths; Italy, 33; Ukraine, 18;
Poland, 20; Bulgaria, 13; Spain, 11; Denmark, seven; El Salvador, five;
Slovakia, four; Latvia, three; Estonia, Netherlands, Thailand, two each; and
Australia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Romania, South Korea, one death each.



The latest deaths reported by the military:

A soldier was killed Monday by an explosive in southern Baghdad.

The latest identifications reported by the military:

Army Spc. Dustin R. Brisky, 26, Round Rock, Texas; died Thursday in Tallil
of wounds from an explosion; assigned to the Army Reserve's 952nd Engineer
Company, Paris, Texas. The unit was attached to the 92nd Engineer Battalion,
3rd Sustainment Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.

Army Pfc. Michael P. Pittman, 34, Davenport, Iowa; died Friday in Baghdad
of wounds from an explosive and small-arms fire; assigned to the 1st
Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st
Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Two soldiers died Saturday after an explosion near their vehicle in
Rashidiyah. Killed were Army Sgt. Danny R. Soto, 24, Houston, Texas, and
Army Spc. Zachary A. Grass, 34, Beach City, Ohio.

Both were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th
Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Ft. Lewis,
Wash.
