_How to Change Anybody: Proven Techniques to Reshape Anyone's Attitude,

Behavior, Feelings or Beliefs_, by David J. Letterman, PhD.

"The tested techniques in this book will give you the tools to permanently

change anyone, faster and more easily than you ever thought possible . . . ."

So why isn't this guy Emperor of the World? locked in psych-war combat

with his readers?

For that matter, why is his book remaindered at $3.95? heh.

(Extend point to all of the ilk.)

maybe someone who thinks the time to spend "trying" to change someone

is worth it?? i personally find this to be a waste. you can give

people ideas and suggestions about how not to be a douchebag, but

unless they want it for themselves...it ain't happening.

What if the person in question doesn't recognize their douchebagedness and

thinks themselves to be just fine?

i'm not sure. it's tough dealing with someone who just refuses to see

the damage they inflict upon thier surroundings and ultimately

themselves. i usaully leave a situation for good after the 4th threat

In other news, it's one-a the saddest lessons that life must teach us and

we must learn, hopefully before getting out of high-school, or at least

before actually signing a contract or getting married, that someone may

I know you believe you understand what you think I said,

but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not

that down in my life. you try and talk to them and assure them and be

a friend. and then it just occurs to you that nothing you say will

help.

herein lies the problem that i encounter. mostly people are good,

everybody has some good inside of them. i never feel like i've been

fooled or anything, just realizing i can't help anyone a little too

late. some people don't just don't want it.

Given a manifold M with a submanifold N, N can be knotted in M

if there exists an embedding of N in M which is not isotopic to N.

Traditional knots form the case where N = S1 and M = S3.
