Unable to resolve error code 38 (windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory)
I am trying to connect to a Leapster console to the LeapFrog network through a USB port on My Desktop PC. I have accessed device manager and have found under network adapter an error code 38 (Leapfrog USB LAN Adapter GFI Software Firewall NDIS IM filter miniport) is in the tag line and contains a YELLOW CIRCLE with "!" inside. I have tried the update driver, uninstall and reinstall options, restart computer, as well as using other USB ports. I have attempted tech support with firewall company/antivirus company without success. I have turned firewall off without success. I am not even sure if it is a firewall issue. There are some other active network adapters that have (Sunbelt Software Firewall NDIS IM filter miniport) active on the computer. GFI is the manufacture for VIPRE antivirus and firewall/Sunbelt.
Can anyone assist with this problem?
