USA needs more freedom

I want to start off by saying that i dont want to be taken as a hippie, i hate hippies

and i also want to say that the following thought are not because i think the american government is evil, i think we are off track of what we should be

okay here it goes

the U.S.A. is far from the "free conutry" it is said to be

we have more rules than ANYWHERE

rules that are stupind and no nothing but hinder our right to do what we please

if you are not purposly hurting somone physicly, or taking away there hard earned money in some way

no law should forbid whatever you are doing

Censorship:

Censorship is a blaten ignorence of the first amendment, it does not say " you can say what you want as long as no ones feelings are hurt, and it does not say that you can say the word crap but not shit( regardless of the fact they have the same meaning)

Censorship is the government saying that we could not censor our selves, all of us kno when it is and is not appropriate to make racial slurs and curse, or yell and scream and insult

the government does not need to set rules and boundaries for this, we can do it ourselves

television and mass commnication is always the go to cry for censorship

CHANGE THE CHANNEL, get a vchip watch what your kids watch

what if you dont like football that goes off the air to? just because you dont like smut dosent mean others dont, why should your needs out weigh theirs.

THAT is not freedom THAT is you placing rules on some one else so you get what you want, freedom is not hard to understand

Petty Laws:

this is the real reason i posted this, i want to hear your thoughts on this and i want you to add to this list

these are NOT principal cultural values the government stole from us

there are stupid pointless laws that should not be in place in a free country

these are stupid things that we should be allowed to do because the goernment of a free country has a right to intrud on such pointless issues

the little things matter most, because few fight for them

-zoning laws and neibors

the follwoing are laws, not rules of a home owners board

you are not allowed to have a 6 foot fence in your front yard where i live

you cant have a pond

you cant sell lemonade

you must have a lawn

you may not have your trashcans on your lawn

you may not have a rv or a boat in your sideyard

you are requird to keep your lawn kept

you are not allowed to use a "work truck" on sundays

you can not start a store in your front lawn

you can not be a mechanic out of your garage\

you can not build a patio cover ANY where on you property with out paying the city for inspections

you may not build a room addition yourself

etc

all i have to say on that is

WTF

i bought the land, pay taxes on it and live on it and the goernment should not be able to tell me what i can and cannot do with it, if i want to tear it down and make it a shack i am allowed becase i OWN the land, im not renting it from the government

th only resonable argument is

"the saftey of the people moving in after the house is sold is in jeopardy"

meaning if you build a shitty room addition it might hurt who ever moves in next

so my idea on that is if you dont get your shit inspected, than your preoperty value goes down, and when you go to buy a house you are alerted of this, because who would buy a house they did not think was safe??

the governemt should NEVER EVER tell you in any aspect how to raise your kids besides basic wellbeing of the child meaning FOOD WATER SHELTER AND A SAFE HOME

until then i want te hear laws you think are unacceptable, not major issues like abortion and stem cell small things ,fireworks,airsoft guns, motorcycles or w/e, the little things that make life so fun

As long as the USA states they are a free country i have the right moraly to fight for that promise

I think the USA should be reduced in size, perhaps split in half and sold off to some other countries. Most of you live around the edges, with all the inbreeding going on in the middle.

we are the longest standing free and democratic constitution in history, we gotta be doing something right, although we are in no way perfect, we are trying. we do happen to be working around mass immigration problems, many many many forms of violent and non violent domestic terror, we are blamed for or given responsibility of most all the worlds problems, and above all that we are the most powerful and healthy nation. we are not getting it all correct, but i'd choose the U.S.A. over china, korea, the U.K., france, or any other nation in the world. at least we don't have laws like "only 2 children per couple" or "absolutly NO firearms, even family hand down antique flintlock rifles or muskets must be cut in a way that prevents them from fireing, EVEN IF THEY ARE PRICELESS ANTIQUES they must by law be mutilated" and btw, they are working on making BB guns and airsoft guns illigal too. (that's the U.K. BTW) sounds kinda like california....

we have no airsoft regulations up here, my Tokio mariu M4A1 is legal all the way, even with a black flash supressor.

"Free and democratic" is a relative term. Just saying. There are places which the US holds to be oppressive that also hold elections. I'm personally of the mind that it's essentially impossible to even be in the running for election to a major office if your ideas differ too far from the current regime's. I agree the US is more free than most countries, but I don't like the "US is #1" propaganda.

Part of that, I think, is due to the fact that you grew up in the US and that endears you to its social climate. Same with me, but I wish the US would have less arbitrary laws. The mere fact that "oscenity" laws made a major attempt to ban porn in the 80's and "sodomy" laws existed until recently shows that the US isn't always leading the so-called free world.
