I just bought an m-audio interface for my guitar have a question for anyone who can help. I'm using Ableton Live 7 and there is a massive delay between my playing and when my headphones receiving the audio. Any program that doesn't do this?

Is the m-audio interface a soundcard (which I am assuming)? What drivers are you using. How much RAM does your computer have an processor speed. You obviously have a latency problem.

new to this type of recording, but something told me that was it. I got my computer refurbished-upgraded so i cant really remember 100% (pathetic mistake i know), but im pretty sure it's 2 gigs ram. This is my interface here and yeah according to my cpu it's also my soundcard.

Okay I am gonna assume it is your Processor speed. If your using Windows go to Control Panel then System and see what is says it should be something like "CPU (or maybe processor can't remember) SPEED: 2.0GHz" for example. I doubt it is the sound card and it is not your RAM.

He shouldn't have that big of lag. I have a Lexicon Lambda Studio ran through Adobe Audition 3.0 and have no noticeable lag. If I run the FL Studio though I occasionally will get lag on live playback.

still don't know what's causing it..... clueless... lol

edit: irony... i have it somewhat resolved... since the last 5 minutes... i lowered a few things in the latency preset and now the lag is maybe 1/4 of a second. thanks guys.

lol i was actually gunna say, sometimes u gotta mess with the latency settings. but lag is typical specially depending on how much power ur cpu has in it
