Guest Tercio
I recently got an HP d5000t (Pentium Quad Q9300/2,5 GHz, 4 Gb memory, 750 Gb HD etc..) with Vista 64 and it has a perfomance index of 5.9. At first all my installed programs used to have top perfomance, as expected. But after a week, my Vista was too slow to boot (7 minutes...instead of its usual 50 secs) and suddenly all the programs were sluggish if not, hardly responding at all. After spending a day having all the hardware tested, which proved that hardware-wise my computer was still fine, i used the Recovery Manager and set up a previous date for recovery. That was it, all problems were solved. I thought that was a one time only problem and went on. Unfortunately, after a week i have the same problem again. Slow boot, extremely slow perfomance etc.. I am now trying to restore it to a previous date, but i would really like to know what is causing this problem and how i could apply a permanent solution.. Part II I finally restored it to factory settings and Index went back to 5.9 as well. Problem is it worked fine only for a couple of weeks... For no obvious reason it has the same problems again.. One thing i noticed..HD seems to be working too much (can hear it actually while normally its pretty noiseless). Most probably will contact HP. Continue reading...
