Do you guys like the old way? New posts are there from your last login and will stay there until you log off, downside is that if your session times you out your New Posts will be refreshed. Or the new way that keep anything you haven't read in your New Posts however once you've opened it, it is no longer considered a New Post?

I personally have never seen a forum where a thread disappears after you have read it, that doesn't make sense to me and I really hate it. Why not just keep the read threads in the "new posts" results??? It's no loss for the people that like the way that it is now, it still shows that the post is read and is still easy to navigate the new posts. However for those that don't like the way it is now it is a real pain. Why would a thread disappear after you have read it?? As I have stated before, many times I, and others, will read a thread, then come back to it a bit later after we think of something to add to the thread. The way it is set up now, the thread disappears and if I want to add to a thread I just won't because I don't want to wade through every forum trying to find the thread I am looking for.

Basically, the new way does not promote posting. It is difficult to find threads to respond to them and that is not what forums are about.

Yea I like the active topics section that some other forums have. Unless Im trying to find something specifically, the active topics is the only thing I look at, and after I read a thread it stays there and doesn't disappear, which I prefer.

Exactly what Hoser said... doesn't promote posting.. I read / think / go back if I can help / want to post a pic or link... If I gotta search, especially on my phone 90% of the time I never find it again.. all the sites I'm on do it the old way.. Dissapearing threads just don't make sense to me. I (and many others) have limited time... spending that searching for a thread you want to help in is counter-productive to the site I think.

If you click on a sub-forum like the Lounge, it shows all the threads that you have and have not read. The ones that you haven't read yet will be bold and have the little icon you can click to take you to the first new post that you haven't read. All the threads you have read are not bold and don't have the icon. That's the way the "New Posts" needs to be. It just makes sense. Why have a thread disappear just because you have read it???

Keep it going Chance.. We'll wear them down... Lol.

Seriously though... Why have disapearing threads? More posts, more info, make it easy for people to contribute.

Nothing to do with Hoser is mad at me.. Honest...

It was a week long poll. Since the results were so close I'm thinking about trying something a little different if I can get it all figured up right. Stay tuned

52.63% say leave it alone, but like I said the results were close enough I'm considering trying something that would give us a clear cut answer to the age old question

I'll be the one to give orders around here :thumb:

since you quoted me, why not quote OTMTRX since he made an order? did you miss this? "Change it back.... go ride your quad....forget about it!

Just a thought! "

no reason to play favorites

I've responded to this in private, but do note that OTMTRX got a response from me and I don't see it as being an ounce of favorable towards his wishes.
