WAR? (one last thread from the 'kid')

OK, I'm leaving for the academy tomorrow, so I'm putting up one final thread...

 

i would like to know, if you had a little button that would make war a thing of the past, never happening again. remember, it doesn't stop one on one killings, or gang beatings or shit like that, just war. ALL WAR.

 

ok, now that you have the button, will you use it? why or why not?

 

I'm trying to see if anyone believes war has a purpose, or if it is deemed an unnecessary evil.

I also think war is necessary for survival. I mean just because we had a button to stop war doesnt mean we would START liking each other.

There is always gonna be disagreements. SO there is be WAR.

I just wish we could goback thought before bombs and nuclear shit...those were real wars.

Are you saying that without war there would be no tyranny? Adolf Hitler wouldn't have been able to march 10 million people off to the gas-chambers? Joeseph Stalin needed war to execute his political enemies... Well you should have stated that in the original premise, I thought that the button would only stop war itself, not stop evil. So sure, if the button would not only stop war, but would also stop tyranny, oppression, fascism, socialism and islam, then I would push the damn thing in a heart beat!

I'd push the button because it would avoid unnecessary bloodshed.

Yeah,yeah,you're gonna attack everything I say or believe.But I believe that if there were no wars,people can stay safe in their own countries,and there is nothing that causes retaliation.

Wars don't solve anything.One country goes and kills some people,the other country retaliates and kills more people.It's just an ongoing cycle which can never end.

And,who the hell puts these bad people in power in the first place?

As long as there is one person who disagrees with another, as long as both people have followers, as long as both people have the sense of urgency to protect themselves and their followers (whether willingly or not), there will be conflict. Punching the other person in the face will not make them change their mind. When one person wants something and it interferes with another person's existance, there will be retaliation. In short...

 

As long as two people disagree and people existance, there will ALWAYS be war. Like it or not, it is something that our species have been doing since the beginning of our existance. And if ants could talk, they would attest to this.

If pushing the button ended war, then it would also end disagreement, which causes war.

Well considering the fact that one person wants to do something that will harm another person and their people/land and pleads won't help because some people are that much driven...ummm war seems to be inevitable. Two people with different views and followers will usually provoke a war.

 

Sorry to say, but playing Twister or poker will not prevent a war. And NOOOOO it isn't just gov't. Look at the middle east. There was always a war about someone's "beliefs".
