Guest Sports News Posted August 16, 2016 Share Posted August 16, 2016 Cathy Lanier, who became Washington, D.C.'s first female police chief in 2007, announced on Tuesday she will step down next month to oversee security for the National Football League. Lanier, 49, spent 26 years in all as an officer with the 3,700-member Metropolitan Police Department. As the NFL's chief security officer, Lanier will supervise security efforts for all 32 teams as well as for major events like the Super Bowl, the league said in a statement. Continue reading...
