I kinda like that rule....but it might create a sponsor conspiracy of only awarding sponsors rep etc...

I think the idiot box should be awarded to someone with a significant amount of points. Can you imagine a total idiot n00b buying a subscription and then try to idiot box people? People need to earn priviledges like that.
