...is utility companies and just places in general who KNOW you NEED their services, so they feel that they can just treat you, their customer, their bread and butter like **** and get away with it.
Such as doctors, they over book so that they only spend 5 mins with you, when they had you waiting for them for at least half an hour with an appt. And YOU best not be late or YOU will have to reschedule! Then they charge you up the nose for those 5mins and often misdiagnose you because they are in such a rush to see the next sucker, I mean, patient and get the **** out of there for the day.
Or some of the receptionists that work at some doctor and dentist offices. They act like you are bothering them with your pertinent questions. Sorry for interrupting your online game, your personal call or your inane conversation with your co-worker and forced you to do your job for a few seconds, lady.
Places like the DMV, post office, court houses, etc. Some of the people that work at those places treat you like you killed their kids and family pet. It's like ****, if you hate people so much and being around people, why take a public service job like this that you hate so much?
Utility companies. We already know how the cable companies were notorious about making you wait sometimes a month for an appt. and you HAD to be stuck in your place for their 4-6hr windows. Be there the exact second that they arrive, not be gone at the corner store really quick, not taking a shower, a leak (or worse yet the other one
) or risk having to wait another hour on the phone to make another appt., then another month and waste another day at home waiting for them. Thank ***!!! for internet appts., faster and improved service because of more competition and less monopolies though.
But you still get some ******** trying to take advantage of you from time to time still. For example, we're moving this weekend, so I make all of the utility appts. ahead of time to assure that we get all of the services shut off from one place and turned on at the other in the time frame that we are moving. So I made the gas service appt. for today between 11:30am-3:30pm. Ok, no problem, my bf will be home from work by then. Sure, he would rather get some sleep from working the night shift, but we need to get this done in this exact time frame.
So what time does the ******* from the gas company show up? A little past 8am!! I'm already long gone at work! Then he has the nerve to call me and tell me that he is only sticking around for 5 mins. and that if no one opens the door by then, to reschedule! He left this on my voicemail and good thing that he did because this made me fume! So I call him up immediately after hearing the vm. I keep getting his vm, time and time again. So I left a vm, not that rude, but not very polite and nice either.
Then I call the gas company directly. When I finally get through to someone and the woman looks up my info and what's going on, she tells me something to the effect of "yup, you are correct. That is what happened and the service guy has already left because the 5 mins passed. You are going to have to reschedule for another day." This is when I lost it again and could not be civil anymore even though I was at work. My boss even came by with some work and just walked back away as in thinking "nevermind..."lol. Well, my "sterness" worked as usual and the woman on the other line finally decided that she could in fact get someone to come by our place at the previously arranged time, between 11:30am-3:30pm after all. Although she did have the nerve to say she had "rescheduled" me for this time.... Grrr....
