heres a new story. this is a blink 182 story and it does have an adult taking a

relation ship with a minor. so theres the warning and have fun reading.

she was an outsider in this tiny town. The rain never stopped and neither did her feelings of loneliness or silence. There was one main road in and out of the town of Grays Harbor and many days she could be seen on her motorcycle flying a silver and blue blurr. It was like she was searching for something more then what she had. The towns people didnt have a very good opnion of her.

"Well I heard her father is a paitent in the looney bin. Her mother and brother died in the same year. I think she killed them."

Mrs. Hayworth said as she sipped at her mug of hot tea while on the porch of her large house by the bay.

"that girl is nothing but trouble. You stay away from her."

Jason Franks warned his ten grand children as they asked questions.

-

The wind wipped through her hair as the rain came down and the night grew darker. The rain was like wiplash against her helmit, water being sprayed everywhere. Andy tried clearing her mindwith her riding. She lived in possiably the wetest place on the planet, Washington state had to be the most waterlogged place ever. Suddenly the blinding lights rounded the sharp curve, blinding her temporairly as her motorcycle swerved. Andy recovered enough to see breifly. She was starring down a one ton bus. She shut her eyes, this was gonna hurt. Metal and flesh were slamed into the pavement, the bike flipped, sending her flying into a wet ditch with her bike on top of her legs. The bus pulled to a stop, the door flew open and a figure dashed over towards her. Andy struggeled to move the bike.

"Stop, stay still. You'll just make it worse!"

The guy commanded.

"**** that! what the **** do you think your doing driving with your highbeams on in the rain like that!"

Andy shouted at the guy. He turned towards the other two figures that Andy could just barely make out in the rain running towards them with a bouncing flash light beam.

"Tom, Travis, get over here!"

"oh ****."

"come on tom help me move it!"

Andy growled in pain as the bike was moved from her legs. Someone pulled her helmit off so she could see clearly.

"Tom take travis and go get help."

The lipringless guy directed as the other two guys ran off in the rain. Andy frowned as she squinted up into this guys eyes.

"Why'd you sent them to town? Aint nobody's gonna want to help me!"

The guy looked at her strangely.

"why say that?"

"Beacuse I'm different."

She groaned and pulled her self up into a sitting position. He gave her a skeptical look.

"dont be stupid"

"I'm telling the truth!"

ok tell me what you think. I'll be glad to accept any ideas and such if you have any little bits of advice to offer.

No advice to offer really, nothing that stands out so far. Maybe a hint of detail here and there wouldn't hurt to help us get a better mental picture of the scene/character development. The start was great, very emotive/descriptive, but after the accident it was... quick. I say this because for anyone who doesn't know the Blink guys won't have any idea who they're supposed to be identifying with... but the pace is good, great actually. Captures the chaos after the accident well - very BAM! BAM! BAM! Like that.

Anyway, as I said, no big issues. Quite readable. Draws me in. Want to know more about Andy and why she thinks she's such an outcast - in her own eyes. Sweet. Character empathy is the writer's best friend... if people care about your characters it gives them a reason to read and a person to believe in that may 'grow' in their subconcious so that they, not just you, might happen to wonder about their plight outside the confines of your story. Powerful stuff indeed!

And to take a direct quote from a reliable source; "That's heavy." XD

Cool. Want to know more... update soon when you find the time. Swish.

*hugs*

to answer a few questions rav, it gets more indepth with this next part. things will be answered in the following chapters. here we go:

"Who the **** are you anyways?"

"I'm Mark Hoppus. Bassist"

Andy grimmaced as she tried to pull herself up using a low branch.

"Your part of that band aint ya?"

"I'm in blink... hey, dont do that. you'll hurt yourself even worse."

"Its a shame worst couldnt happen."

Mark frowned at Andy's muttering.

"What are you some kind of *********?"

"No."

She said defiantly as she pulled her self up compleatly into a standing position. Mark shook his head as the rain continued to come down even harder. Andy balanced herself.

"Why do you care so much?"

"Because you were hit by a bus! anyone else would have been killed at the least."

Mark argued. Andy smirked.

"dont you have a wife to worry about?"

"...."

Mark was about to say something but was interupted by tom and travis. It starteled andy, causing her to topple forward into mark. They fell into the mud.

"no one wants to help, we're here on our own."

"Told you so."

Andy grumbeled as mark helped her back up, throwing her arm around his neck.

"where do you live is it far?"

"just down that way."

Andy said pointing through the rain. She clutched onto mark to keep her balance as Travis clutched a stitch in his side. Tom checked the bus over as Travis picked up the motorcycle.

"ok where to?"

what do you think?

this is for fox dearest.

they almost walked off before the bus door swung open.

"Travis what happened?"

"We hit a chick with the bus. I'll be back soon fox."

"like **** im comming with you."

a girl ran out in the rain to help travis manage with the bike. andy grimmaced as she almost pulled mark over with her weight. Mark picked her up bridal style as she pointed to the lone house with the porch light on in the rain. Travis continued to look over the bike with a critical eye.

"they dont have this **** in stores."

"its a custom."

Andy muttered. The girl, fox, looked at it in disbelief.

"you made this?!"

Andy directed Travis and Fox to the basement where they could stash the bike. Mark helped andy fumble for her keys, clumbsily unlocking the door. Mark set her down on the couch. Fox came back up. Marks cell phone rang, he excused himself and walked out onto the tiny coverd porch. Andy could hear him cursing like a sailor. Fox came in and sat down beside Andy as she started cleaning up andys leg.

"I'm fox by the way. I'm with travis."

"Andy, nice to meet you."

There was silence, only to be punctured perodicaly by marks curses. Fox casted a sad look towards the door where mark had excused himself.

"dont worry about mark, Skye's giving him a hard time about his divorce."

"I know how that is."

andy muttered sadly as she gazed at the oppasite wall at a picture. Fox gave a sad smile as Mark came back in, almost frothing at the mouth. Fox looked at him with raised eyebrows, mark made a grimmace.

"Fox your such a smart ***. no wonder travis loves you so much."

"Why thanks markie dearest."

she said flipping him off in a jocular manner. Mark sat back down to wrap up andy's leg in gauze

Pheonix791989

"you guys need a place to crash?"

"yeah."

Mark said as he finished wrapping andy's leg in gauze. Travis came up from the basement where he was putting the bike up.

"**** you have a whole shop in there."

"I gotta make money some how."

Andy snipped. She pulled a pair of crutches from the corner where another dusty picture was. Fox was lip locked with Travis. She showed tom and travis and fox room where they could stay. She opened the last door.

"This is my room, you can stay here."

"I dont want to kick you outta your own room."

Mark protested. Andy shook her head as Fox bid Andy goodnight.

"Dont worry about it. I'll be in the basement."

Mark stepped into Andy's room. the downpour outside gave the room and erie aura as teh moonlight illuminated the darkblue paint. Posters of the crow and various rockbands in positions on the wall. Mark let his breath out slowly, not realizing that he had been holding it. He picked up a picture frame up from the desk, there were two soldiers dressed in full BDU's and there was another boy in a ramones tee-shirt. Then it looked like a little version of andy. It must have been her family. He realized that he was staring at teh same picture Andy was staring at in the living room.

Mark couldnt sleep that night. He was feeling so guilty for the bus incident and staring up at teh blink182 poster wasnt helping his feelings. Mark sat up, why was it that the entire town against her. Mark stood up and walked around the edge of the room. Mark ran into the bookshelf. A notebook fell from the shelf and onto his barefoot. Newspaper clippings scattered everywhere. mark scrambeled to pick them up. Some of the headlines caught his attention.

"18 yr old boy dies of suicide....Erica Travers, 31, KIA.......Grayson Travers, 49, accused for armed robery and homicide after returning from war?"

Mark swallowed hard. This was her family? No wonder the town was a bit skittish about her. It wasnt her fault at all. Mark wandered the halls Thinking about how selfish it was to worry about Skye and his problems with her. Tom was asleep, Travis and fox were asleep. Mark heard a low rap song pulsing from the basement, he opened the door and heard faint music drifting up the stairs. Mark couldnt shake this feeling, that this girl, Andy, was truly alone in this world. He watched her hobble around the island where her bike was propped up. He watched andy, listening to her singing part of the song.

where'd you go?

I miss you so

seems like its been forever

that youve been gone.

Mark could tell from the pain in her voice that she missed her family. Mark knew that if he didnt have his family, he wouldnt have made it like he did. Her sobs mixed with the beat of the song. Mark felt aweful.

Andy spotted Mark on the steps. They locked eyes breifly as thunder crashed and the downpour got steadily worse as they could hear it beating out a heavy beat aganst the window that led outside.

"It hasnt stopped raining for three years now. "

She said with tears still shining in her eyes. Mark could tell that she knew that he knew.

"It cant rain all the time."

Mark simply said as he handed her the crutches.

"My mom used to say that."

"Your alone arnt you?"

Mark helped her steady herself. Her tight lips giving away that something else was bugging her.

"You wanna talk?"

"My dad was always harsh, always a soldier and never someone who loved. It killed my brother. when my mom died, he went crazy."

Mark walked around with her to the tool chest. The pain and fear he heard in her voice was almost tearing his heart in half.

"They were both soldiers, my mom and dad. They never really made it."

The music played softly in the background as she dug out a wrench from the tool chest.

she said some days I feel like ****

some days I wanna quit, and just be normal for a bit.

I dont understand why you always have to be gone

I get along but the trips always feel so long

and I find myself trying to stay by the phone

cause your voice helps me not feel so alone

But I feel like an idiot working my day around the call

But when I pick up I dont have much to say

So I want you to know its a little ****** up

Telling you I've had it with you and your career,

Me and the rest of the family singing "where'd you go?"

Mark sat down beside her on the work bench. Looking at all the spare parts, it made him feel slightly guilty that after all that she had gone through, his problems were stupid in comparison.

"How do you get all of this?"

"I race everyday in seattle."

Mark shook his head in disbelief as she wiped the tears away.

"How do you do it? I mean getting up every day and being able to face it like you do?"

"I made a promise

I miss you so,

seems like its been forever

that you've been gone

where'd you go

I miss you so

seems like its been forever

that youve been gone

please come back home

"A promise?"

Mark asked as he handed the rag to her as she started to wipe down the engine parts.

"I promised my mom that I'd never give up no matter what happened."

Andy muttered as she then traded the rag for the screw driver that mark was holding. He gave a half hearted smile.

"Youre not gonna race like that are you?"

"I have to."

Marks frown deepened as she tightened some screws on the body of her bike.

"I know you made a promise and all but..."

Mark protested. Andy frowned as she wiped the bike down again.

"I gotta pay the bills, besides motorcycles are the only thing I know."

Andy said, hobbeling over to the worn old couch. When she sat down, she sank a good few inches closer to the ground. The low rap song looped back around. Mark stared over at the sound system as if just seeing it for the first time. There were close to about a hundered trophies, awards, and plaques lining the wall behind it.

"You must be good"

"I'm not good, im the best. I'm the only one from grays harbour that races. the people here in town think its unproper for a lady to be racing in a mens sport. That and the thought of my dad kindda unbalances them."

Andy sighed as she picked up the largest trophy closest to her.

"State finals, best in the 250 cc's. Three years ago before my mom was KIA."

"How long have you been racing?"

"Since I was ten."

Andy shook her head as if trying to read Marks mind.

"Why do you care so much mark?"

"Why does it matter if I care?"

Andy shook her head again, hobbeling over to the computer, her fingers flew over the keys.

"No ones ever cared before."

"Is it bad that I care?"

"Because everyone that cares about me just seems to dissapear."

"Well I aint goin no where. Atleast not untill your leg heals up properly."

"That may be a while."

Andy muttered under her breath in a gutteral growl.

"I can be just as stubborn as you are."

Mark challenged. Andy chuckeled to herself.

"It would seem so."

Mark chuckeled. It was nice to see somewhat of a smile on her face.

"well you need sleep if your gonna race."

"Thanks mark."

Andy was asleep on the couch. Mark had stayed with her down in the basement, talking untill she eventually fell asleep. Mark knew nothing about motorcycles, but it seemesd that Andy was like him in essence that they both did the one thing they loved the most. Playing music in front of millions of people was the only thing that Mark knew how to do. His wife, skye didnt understand that. Andy knew how it was to only be good at one thing. The phone rang, jolting Mark from his daze. Andy answered it, streatching at the same time as she sat up from teh couch. Mark blinked, it was almost as if he fell asleep just sitting there.

"The rigs comming up in a half hour for my bike, we have a big race tomorrow in Seattle."

"Can I come? I've never seen races before."

"Sure."

Andy tossed him a pass hanging on a chain. Mark slipped it around his neck.

"What kind of race?"

"Its an underground race. Thats the track layout over there."

Mark looked at the computer that showed the layout on the screen.

"that's ******* nuts."

They both went upstairs and andy made her way into the kitchen while mark started to try and wake up the others. Andy made some gatorade mix and grabbed a piece of toast. frowning, she picked up her blue and silver helmit, still dinged and dented from the altercation with the bus front last night. Mark crept up behind her.

"They want to come if thats ok."

"no problem."

The rig came and got the bike and were told to go on ahead. Mark offered to drive as tom travis and fox clambered into the back of the truck. They passed the bus, it was still missing a tire. They would deal with it later. Mark was told to take a pitstop.

"I'll only be a minute. "

Andy reassured. Mark had pulled up to a small graveyard. Tombstones, old and weathered, protruding from the ground. Mark got out and held the gate open for her as she hobbeled strait to the back row. Mark followed.

"Mark this is my mom."

Andy said bending down lower to pat the headstone. Mark nodded, unable to speak.

"This is my brother."

Andy said pointing to a stone beside her mothers.

"Hey mom, I got another big one today."

Andy bent closer towards the stone.

"I won yesterday. You and Jay would be so proud. I promise I'll be careful."

Andy straitened up and hobbeled back to the car. MArk helped her past the gate.

"Your mom seems nice."

Mark said with a smile. Andy gave a pained smile as they started the long trek northward.

"you sure you can race?"

Mark asked for the tenth time.

"I told you i have to."

Andy grumbeled in reply. Mark concentrated on the street, giving up to andy's bull headedness. Why did he care about her so much? he asked him self. He cast a slidways glance at her. He saw alot of what happened to him when he was younger, starting out with nothing to loose but everything to gain. THere was something deepeer that she was afraid of, something more then mere motorcycle crashes or being afraid of being on crutches for the rest of her life. They were directed deep under the streets of seattle. Her guests looked on in amazement at the small road opened up into a huge cavern where an ecletic group of people became a pulsing mass of tattooed, pirced fringes of society, set apart by their clothes and bad language. High speed punk rock hammered from speakers that took up almost every concieviable spot from a home grown system along the wall of teh starting line. On stepping out of the car, andy was greeted with a thunderous roar from her fair share of the crowd. Her bike was set up and a mechanic took her crutches.

"Eli says you better win or youre outta job.

Andy gave a gutteral grumble as she pulled the black lether gloves on.

"Be careful."

Mark said, handing her the helmit. His heart started to pound in his chest.

"I always am."

Andy said as she twisted her hair into a makeshift ponytail with out a tie and draped it onto her shoulder.

"The race is shown on the screen over there."

Andy said pointing to a flat screen over the starting gate. Andy waved by to Tom, Mark, travis and fox, gunning her engine, she took her place in the line up.A guy with a red and white bike pulled up beside her, nodding in greeting. There was a roar of engines as the flag was dropped. Andy's bike lept forward like a starteled colt from the sidelines. Her and the red biker dude lept to the front of the pack quickly. They shot towards the tunnel and into the dark.

-

Mark gripped the edge of the seat.

"She's up front!"

Fox said excitedly as she watched andy and the dude toy with first place back and forth. They rounded a turn, mark bit his lip as Tom kept a running commentary with occasional remarks from fox.

"They're going to crash!"

Tom shouted, gripping the rail infront of him like it was life.

"No they arnt!"

Travis yelled to tom.

"The red guy is!"

Fox screamed, tugging on travis's arm. The guys bike slid out from under him and into the wall of the tunnel. Mark looked up as the small tunnel opened up into another large under cround cavern with a catwalk criscrossing above an underground river. One wrong move and you'd have been sent into the river. Marks heart was ounding in his throat. With some of the turns she was making, he thought for sure she was going to go off the edge and fifteen feet into the water below

thanks jelly, better late then never. n_n heres another update and im glad you like it

Andy could feel her adrenaline pumping through her veins as if it was her blood. Some of the mechanics that worked on the other bikes would joke that her blood was motor oil and she was probably an android with the way she could charm and manipulate everything out of the bike. She shot into another tunnel, lights flicking past in sporodic streaks. She was almost there at the end, she could just see the finish line ahead in the end of the tunnel. She ripped through the checkerd line with her fists held high in triumph. There was a sound, almost as if a jet was taking off inside the cavern.

"ANDY ANDY ANDY!!"

The crowd chanted her name as she stopped her bike.

"You did it!"

Tom shouted as Mark, travis, and fox made their way to her, Mark lifted her high up on his shoulders.

"That was totally wicked! I've never seen anything like that!"

Mark shouted, still white knuckeled from clutching the seat infront of him. Andy made high fives from Tom, Travis, and fox. She was feeling like she could take on the world with the way she was feeling. Andy hadnt felt like this in a long time. She had never had any one to share her victories with since her dad dissapeared after comming home from war.

"You guys are the best for comming to watch me."

Andy muttered as she was set gently down. Mark beamed as she lifted the trophie high up in the air. Smiling, he gave her a hug.

"Hey andy that was just too awesome, you scared the living **** outta me."

"Glad you had fun mark. Where the **** are my crutches?"

Travis appeared with them and Andy took them greatfully. She sank exchaustedly downward. MArk frowned as he helped her stand back up.

"racing is like falling. Its not the fall that kills you, its the sudden stop at the end."

She said, yawning. Mark grimmaced, she stayed up almost all night and now she was physically and mentally drained from the race. Mark looked down at his watch. **** time sure flew when he was watching the race. They had gotten there around lunch time and now it was almost six pm.

"your a dumb *** you know?"

Mark muttered shaking his head at andy.

"Why's that?'

Andy grunted unpreturbed.

"Because only a dumbass would do that after sleeping for only three hours."

"whatever."

She said, leaning heavily on mark for support.

this part is a little short but here it is

Mark sat in the back with andy leaning on his shoulder, sleeping gently. Mark thought she was crazy to race like that after almost no sleep. Tom was driving and Travis was doting on Fox in the middle seat. It was an adrenaline rush and a half. Mark loved it, it was like racing for an orgasam in ***. Mark rolled his eyes at himself. That seemed to be one of the reoccouring things in his mind, playing bass, girls, *** and his son. He then frowned. He would miss jack so much, he was the only reason why he and Skye stayed together. he watched the sceenery, it was like the usuaul sceenery that he always watched from the tour bus, but this was different. it seemed different to him.

"Mark, you alright?"

"uh huh."

Mark muttered as he looked back out over the bay. He noticed for the first time that he was in Washington, it had started raining. They crossed over a large river, watching the setting sun over the bay on teh way back to grays harbor. It seemed almost perfect to him. The sun setting into the water, melting seemlessly into the background and the mountains never looked better. Mark sighed happily as he remembered the times he would sit with his son on the back steps of his san diego home and watch the water from the porch as teh boats would come in. Those moments he shared with his son almost rival in happiness of what he felt now here with andy.
