Guest Gpa11 Posted February 26, 2012 Share Posted February 26, 2012 OEM Vista Home Premium. Normal boot does not recognize password. When user icon clicked it says, "Your account has been disabled. Please see your system administrator" I looked into the mirror but it did not help. Booted, hit F8, went to safe mode with network connection. Everything seemed to be there. Surfed the internet and then began to wonder why I did not need a password here when I did in normal boot. What good is the password? Checked "Microsoft Answers" but what I got out of that was, I need to reinstall the OS, which I can't without a disc anyway. I thought I knew the password as I have used it before. This computer was recently "reinstalled" from internal 'restoration' folder. Something must have happened. Can an unknown password be deleted from safe mode? In the end how do you reinstall a clean Vista when all you have is Product Key and no local or OEM support? What would be the difference between a Password Reset disc and the OS disc. Both would probably be stored side by side. Besides most of us dummies just want to surf to buy and if we can't surf we can't buy. Help us dummies get back on the internet, Microsoft.
