Guest shumayal
The computer starts to a black screen with the welcome screen initially appearing in a normal bluishtheme [but a bigger than normal font] and then it goes black with the welcome and the words below "Windows 7 Ultimate" also white. [i think it is white even in normal start up but it is striking here due to contrast with black] The desktop is black with no icons nothing [Task Manager doesn't show Explorer.exe]but when i immediately start Task Manager it does show explorer running but it vanishes after few seconds. 1)Creating a New Task and running anything simply makes the task manager stop responding and gives that 'searching for solution' thingy dialog box after which i have to press 'close program' button. So that's useless both in safe mode or normal mode. Last Known configuration leads to the same thing. However, Safe Mode with command prompt works and I ran chkdsk. It does not find errors now however it did twice or so yesterday and a couple of weeks ago and it even repaired them. Luckily I took their snaps too and can provide them if needed. I attach pics of what I saw recently [attach=full]5367[/attach] Next 2) I tried booting using Win 7 usb backup I had made of my disk [since I cannot find the dvd at the moment] and ran 'repair windows' in the starting menu after clicking next towards the bottom left. I found my OS listed, the only OS Win 7 32bit and i clicked next and had it checked for Start Up Repairs. Sometimes it says It detects problems but cannot repair it automatically and needs to send information to microsoft, I attach the internet cable and click send. That dialog box goes after sometime but nothing happens. The other times it says it cannot detect any problems. Next 3)I try system restore among the other options and i initially wouldn't find any restore points, but today morning as I type this I did find one it was of a 'windows critical update' that i had done on 3rd March. I try restoring it but it shows me this PS: Sorry for image Quality. Continue reading...
