Hello,
My battery backup unit died. When turning the computer back on it needed to run "CHKDSK". Computer turned itself off in the middle of running "CHKDSK". Restarted and interrupted check-disk request. Windows loaded ok but then said "Windows 7 - Build 7601 - This copy of Windows is not genuine. So I got out my DVDs and tried to re-activate. This is what I get:
An error has occurred
Code: 0x80070057
Description: The parameter is incorrect.
Soon a bubble message popped up in the corner, "A change has been made ... Re install Windows.
System restore doesn't work, either, from any point. (unexpected error ...)
When I tried to perform a recovery installation I get an error, "Windows 7 Professional can not be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional. etc... "
I sure hope you can help, as, I'd hate to have to do a full re-install from scratch. Thanks for your help in advance.
Best Wishes,
Jim
