Recently, we have had some issues with KMS activation. Usually we will get a ticket on a client computer "Windows is not Genuine", it's random and never happens on the same computer. When I check the EM logs, I don't see any errors from the Windows Security SPP source. I then check to see if I can run slmgr.vbs /ato which returns "product key not installed", however it was installed during imaging. I am using the right key ends in GPDD4.
I can not re-install the key through the computer proprieties pane; I can only install the key using slmgr.vbs /ipk "key", then run the /ato switch. This resolves the issue, and I'm on my way to the next issue.
My question is what could be causing this? How would I fix it? And how do you troubleshoot an issue like this where there is NO errors logged on the client/server?
I have Googled, and searched the forums here, and I'm at a loss.
