I have been trying to update windows 7 with service pack 1 (KB976932) 64 bit and it has been constantly failing with error 80073701. The main reason I care to get this update working is b/c windows is having driver installation problems for a piece of hardware I need to hookup (audio interface for studio recording) and I believe this is the main cause. I've been having some weird video card issues as well, such as the driver dropping out and reverting to a VGA driver, and some other things here and there.
Steps I have taken:
Uninstalled all anti-virus and Disabled windows firewall + defender
Tried the system update readiness tool (KB947821) and that hasn't fixed it
Tried windows trouble shooter, and it finished saying it 'fixed windows update' or something along those lines, but upon restart - nope.
Tried to uninstall all MUI language packs, but Russian fails to uninstall every time and I can't find a way to get it uninstalled, I've heard of that being a fix but I can't implement it.
