You will find the settings in the Router. Network name and Security Key.

If you don't know how to get into the Router, it is time for you to get a

Computer Technician to set things up properly for you.

I am not knocking you; it is too hard to explain to you here, in a way that

you would understand.

You can use the free WirelessNetView utility from Nirsoft:

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireless_network_view.html

Or you can look on your router because in some routers the passphrase

(encryption key you need to enter on your laptop to join the wireless

network) is in clear text. To get into the router's configuration utility,

open a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and in the addressbar

type it's IP address. This example is for a Linksys router; if you don't

have a Linksys refer to your router manual or your router mftr.'s website

for its defaults.

http://192.168.1.1 [enter] (this is the router's default IP address, which

varies from router to router so check your manual)

This will bring you to router's login screen. The default username is left

blank and the Linksys default password is "admin" without the quotes. Enter

that information. You are now in the router's configuration utility. Your

configuration utility may differ slightly from mine. Now click on the

Wireless link at the top of the page to see the SSID (network name) and

from there, click on Wireless Security to see the encryption level and

passphrase used.
