Wood: I couldn't punch a small lady

Victoria Wood had to have a scene written out of her new role because she was too nice to punch the other actress. The comedian stars in new BBC One crime drama Case Histories but told the TV Times she couldn't bring herself to act out a fight. On the scene where she confronts a mother bullying her child, Victoria said: "They wanted me to punch the child's mother in the face but I couldn't bring myself to do it. "It was written out; we compromised. It's very hard to pull your hand back to punch a small woman who's already pinned up against a car - maybe this is why I had no career in Bond films."
