World hunger.

11.Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would end hunger in the world?
Um...no. That is just stupid. World hunger and extremely poor people are just stupid to me. If they don't have enough money, then they should do something about it in their life. Others have, why can't they?
This coming from a post in my 25 questions thread, sparked a debate in my head so i thought id post it.

What are your feelings on world hunger ?

This persons opinion is very far from mine, and thats fine were all entitled to our own opinions.

Its good that world hunger and poor people are stupid to you. And if they dont have money dont you think theyre TRYING to do something about it ??

I wish id of remembered who you were so i could check your profile and see how old you are. But judging by that post you probably grew up in some sort of middle class home, this could be why you think this.

Growing up poor, that statement really pushed my buttons. I work two jobs and go to school, yet i have no money. (come to think of it, i worked two jobs in highschool as well ) So im stupid to you for working my *** off ? Thats great.

What does everyone else think about world hunger / poor people ?

I know this sounds mean, but it doesn't really cross my mind.

They can't really do anything about being poor though, being raised with hardly any education and stuff... so they can't get any proper jobs, and I doubt theres anyone out there who would employ people. I'm probably completly wrong though... I don't know much about the 3rd world.

As for world hunger, we can't keep running around after them all the time, what with the endless charities and campaigns to get them food and stuff... something else needs to be done about it... but I don't know what.

Anyway they're my opinions... growing up resonably well off, I don't know what its like for the more poorer people...

I don't know if anything above makes sense lol

no it does. I was just upset. There are lots of charities but still lots of people, not everyone is helped, we try our best though. But to just say that its "stupid" Really drives me mad.

wow, i completely sympathise with these people, when my dad left he left us with zilch and i know id never have been as poor as some of these people but it really opens your eyes to certain things

we lived in kenya for a while and just going to school youd see the amount of poverty around you, we had to live in a place surrounded by barbed wire and guys with guns incase someone got in (it was at that time where witch doctors were telling guys if they had *** with a white virgin theyd get rid of their aids, so men were going around raping white people...)

it made you think what kinda of conditions people without the protection we had lived like...

I agree with you Roxy. And besides that. I mean If you are born in third world countries theres not much you can do. Your basically born into poverty. And that means that cant afford to get an education. People who go to public skools take education for granted. They blow it off. Maybe whoever that ******* is should have been born into poverty. Then we could call him stupid.

First of all, that was me and you could have just looked in the thread for my username.

Well anyway, I have reasons for my opinion. It's kinda hard for me to explain, but I will try. Basicly, if you are born poor, you should do something about. I mean, there are lots of people out there who had no help from their parents and made it just fine. If you know this about you/your family, start working on it. It's obviously your responsibilty to make your life turn out good.

So, you might ask how are people supposed to go about doing that? Well, this is the part I can't really explain. Use your talents to your ability. Go get a job, get training, get education, etc. Like I said, I can't tell you exactly how because it would depend on your situation.

And if you're just gonna ***** about how "I should try it" or whatever....well....I could really care less. The only reason I'm posting in this thread is because it was my original post that was used.

Ive already repped you with my opinion

EDIT: have you ever thought of the kids that cant get an education because they spend all of theyre time working to try to help support their families?

This reminds me of a tragic moment in American History. The great depression. Now when this happened America was broke. THere was like no money to pay teachers and no kids to go to school. Why didnt kids go to skool you may ponder. Becuase they were working there ***** off in factories trying to make a dollar. Now there poor and starving. Do you think little johnny is going to take a chance and skip work to get a career in acting or athletics? No. He's going to stay home and help his family. It sounds easy to say get up and do something. BUt in actuallity for people living in poverty..its not.

In their spare time they can learn on their own. It's not like all they do is work all the time.

Edit: Look, I'm sorry if you don't like my opinion, but that is my opinion. I'm not trying to be mean about it or anything. I just think that way.

True that. ROxy did ask for our opinions so you are fairly entitled to your opinions. Were-HS and whoeverelse- just trying to see where your logic comes from. I mean...not every one can read a book. **** preety much everyone on the forums misspells. I dont think it'll be easy for a kid to teach himself/herself.

Your well entitled to your opinion.

Im doing just fine putting myself through school, i definately am taking advantage of any and every financil aide oppurtunity possible. But in thrid world country's they dont even GET public school, let alone FINANCIAL aide for college. So saying that every poor / poverty stricken person can just "Do something about it" Is a VERY naieve comment. Its upsetting that you think like this, but again its your opinion. so be it.

and yes i could of just looked your name up, but it was helal workbecausethere are so many replies and 25 questions and answers per reply, it was too much work. I had to go to work, and i didnt have time.

And you're 14 years old, that could be why you think like this. Not because you're 14, but because when I was 14 i thought the same way, and i know everyone is different but at 14 your more self involved then at 19.

Oh i should shut up now before i offend someone and get my post locked.

EDIT: have you ever thought of the kids that cant get an education because they spend all of theyre time working to try to help support their families?
Yup or even themselves. My friend, both of her parents died when she was still in highschool, she didnt get the talk show and the millions in donations, no she is going to community college and she got her ged because she had to quit highschool to take care of her brothers.

And me, i had to fend for myself now and im highschool, ever since i COULD legally work i have been, even before i could legally work i did, why ? Because a house is all my mom will give me. Food and clothes im on my own. ESPECIALLY with school. Im willing to give up 90 % of my life to work two jobs and go to school so my life is better. Most people would just choose to work some entry level job most of theyre life just so they can get by.

Either way its effort in the right direction. To just assume theyre not trying because theyre poor is a HORRIBLE assumption. I dont see the logic, unless you've grown up fairly well off.

And as they said previousely, theyr enot just going to quit working to go to school, they haveto eat and pay rent while in school, the world is not going to stop because they want to make theyre life better.

I agree with Roxy, Azem, and everyone else who takes that view.

I don't believe that being poor or in poverty is anything people will do on purpose. Poverty is a vicious circle, known as the povery trap, and it is very hard to get out of poverty once in it. Money which could be spent on education and luxuries must go on food, clothes, and medicines. Things which the majority of us take for granted.

If you feel bad about the state of things in third world countries, you would feel alot better if you give to charities or various orginazations trying to help such places.

I believe that actions speak louder then words...and in all these posts I didn't read that anyone gave something to relief efforts.

Thats cool dude. :)

Sometimes my church will have donation collection for world hunger. I always give them as much as possible. Sometimes its only a hanful of change, but that money goes a huge way in African countries and the like.

I donate what i can when i can and if i cant i will find someway to do something. I.E. The Aids walk. I collected $60 in donations, its not much but its all i could do.

Just because we didnt mention it didnt mean we dont donate. The question is about your THOUGHTS and opinions on world hunger, not your actions.
