Republican Scott Brown defeated Democrat Martha Coakley in a race that is being shown as the biggest upset for Democrats for over 20 years.

But why?

I have been saying all along it was the independents who handed Obama the Presidency when they believed his campaign promises of middle of the road politics where he said he would have full transparency and would work openly with both sides of the asile............but, the Obama who took office has nothing in common with the Obama who ran for that office and made all those wonderful promises of "hope" and "change" in Washington.

Obama ran with his 60 vote super majority and said screw the promises and decided to be purely partisan, purely socialist, purely insulting to anyone who dared to question what he was doing...........

And it has had a cost, now their 60 vote supermajority that they were banking on has bounced a check and everything has changed...........

I wonder who the Liberals will blame?

Already they are trying to blame Coakley, trying to say she ran a lack luster campaign but even after 20 million dollars of emergency ads and appearances from Obama nothing changed, in fact the numbers from the polls got worse after Obama showed up.

So why did the people reject the "easy win" Democrat?

In my opinion,it had little to do with her and everything to do with rejecting Obama and his socialist agenda that even the mostly Liberal leaning Massachusetts voters had to revolt against it.....and that is saying a lot.

If the Democrats do not learn from this that they have been going down the wrong road and severely pull back on their radical socialist agenda, they will see more of the same very soon.

My newest prediction:

Several moderate Democrats will regain their guts and join with the Republicans to reject many of these very bad possitions that Pelosi and Reed had earlier bullied them into accepting. This loss will wake them up that even previously 'assumed' Democratic seats are now in play because the people are getting ****** off.

Look for the remaining hard core socialist Democrats to talk a lot of **** and turn very ugly on their way down as well.

Obama will stop talking trash, he is not as stupid as Reed and Pelosi where he knows things have now changed faster than expected. Obama knew all along that there would be a knee jerk reaction against his party in the mid term elections, that is why he was trying to get his most radical stuff passed before that election showed up..........

Now he will have to ease up, let other people like Pelosi talk trash while he sits back with his mouth shut. But, all the **** talking he has already done will have a price, just how big is yet to be determined.

Moderate democrats that want to keep their jobs will re ***** everything that?s going on and will start to listen to their constituents. I believe Obama, Pelosi and Reid will still try to bully them and push their agenda but this is going to cost the democrat party big time. To me the funniest thing in the world is how everyone in the liberal world is still calling it "Ted Kennedy's Senate seat". Like they owned it or something.

On of the best points Braown made in a debate was that this seat does not belong to Ted Kennedy, or the Democrats, it instead belongs to the people and that is why so many of the people are upset, these elite politicians do not understand they are supposed to be working for these peopel they do not even see.

As I predicted, Obama has said he wants to wait on Bro9wn to be seated before trying to move forward on his healthcare agenda, he knows he was a very big part for why they lost that seat now, the question is, can the Democrats learn from this and change enough to slavage their reputation with voters before the mid term elections?

I think it is certainly possible, especially if they turn away from their insane healthcare drive and instead work to create a new bipartisan bill. If Obama can bring the two parties together to work on things as he promised he would do during the election, then he will regain the trust of Americans.

But if Obama cannot control the more radical elements of his party like Pelosi and Reed, then there will be no regaining of trust, too much damage has been done.

Just be vigilant about this neocon. While I was glad that Brown's election might spell disaster for Obama's grand schemes, I am reluctant to get behind this guy.

Scott Brown does not have what they call a "conservative" voting record. The man voted for "Romney-care" and now he's voted for the job's deal with the Democrats and other neocons.

I think he's just another New England progressive type ready to vote the way he is told to vote.

I agree, the money is already taken so why not move it to something that might help instead of wasting the money on pet projects and rewards to political friends.

I find it interseting that Obama promised to make jobs his number 1 priority but there has been almost no time spent on jobs, he is still traveling the Country in campaign mode pushing for a Government monster to control healthcare insurance companies.

If they would all drop healthcare (for now) and instead show real work and progress on job creation I believe they could actually turn public opinion around for them in the next elections because it would show that they are listening to the wants and concerns of Americans. But as long as Obama and company are determined to ignore the people and do only what they want to make Government bigger and more powerful, then they will lose big.

As far as trusting Brown, I never complately trust any politician or any political group, when even the Libertarians voted for Obama in the last election, that proved we can never truly count on any of them.

Truth is, a jobs bill (no matter how the funds were generated) is just a band aid; a temporary fix to a growing problem. I doubt the bill will scratch the surface of the national unemployment rate.

These guys always have to be doing something, that is the curse of Government. Each person feels they have to justify their existence or maybe they are no longer needed so no matter if your talking about the local county clerk or the President of the Unites States of America, they each want to 'look' like they are doing something.

So we have to give them something to do or they will do something we don't like. I agree, stopping everything and letting the dust settle down would be the best thing they could do right now. Let everyone take a deep breath and relax their sphincter long enough to look around and assess where we are to move forward in a less hurried way. But I really do not believe we can make this happen so in the lack of a nothing option, having them work on something like a jobs issue is the least evil in my opinion.

All Government people from the local county politician to the Washington Senator all feel they need to be changing things, because they need to justify and define their existence.

So with that understanding that these idiots will feel obligated to constantly do "something" I would rather them work on something that might actually help, but I agree with you that in a perfect world, they would just stop completely.

I will say this, done properly the Government can get out of the way of the private sector so they can create jobs. Almost all ov the lost production jobs in America was caused by heavy handed laws and regulations forced by our Government. For example, Union friendly laws gave Unions the right to bully employers until many of these employers departed to friendlier Countries for cheaper labor. The employees/Unions out of greed killed the Goose that layed the golden eggs.

I saw your point, added my two cents, and now you explain it different way. Placating my intelligence and ultimately not adding anything that isn't already understood.

For the sake of argument, you're preaching to the choir. There isn't anything above that I don't already know or somewhat and for the most part agree with.

They can talk until their blue in the face about jobs and the economy, but nothing gets done that truly is beneficial to anyone. In the end, entitlement legislation will best serve those who wrote it. The rest will be left up to time and government as usual.

You say they need something to occupy their time, I say they won't do it effectively. You say there is no hope for them to take time off and I agree with vehement passion. Potatoes, pah-tah-toes... we're not moving material here.

So... I will end my participation in this discussion on jobs in this thread, but I guess you can get off topic if you want in your own thread. We can go back to discussing Scott Brown if you like. I brought up the jobs bill as an example of something that would classify him as "another politician".
