Xero Sampler Tape

Hi all! This is my first post here at LPforums, and I want to say that my overall impression of the site is very good! If I sound like a noob, it's because I am.

Anyway, this thread should cause some excitement. I recently downloaded a copy of the xero sampler tape that was originally recorded by someone going under the name "nkramar." Since then, I've been working to bring the tracks up to CD quality, and trust me, it takes time. Since its almost impossible to get a job like that done using only the original tracks, I've decided that one of the steps is to record my own samples that sound very similar to the original though at high quality, and insert them into the tracks so they overlay the original samples. This allows for me to add in stereo. Currently, I'm still working on them, so they aren't ready to be shared, but I've uploaded a sample of "Stick N' Move" for you all to hear and review.

Constructive Criticism is always welcome.

Cause god forbid anything LP related would sound organic!

Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it.

Or LPF Sessions 3 leaks before it's done and Spoilers will be posted for every film release. Not to mention periodic troll invasions.

just so you know Nkramar is a member of this site....

and that song sounds a little scratchy

I am? Oh, I am. :)

Gotta agree with azem on this one, the samples you're using seem a bit forced, especially since they don't match the original recording. This is magnified by the fact that the vocals are left out there naked - Not much you can really do in this department unless you can convince Shinoda himself to lay down new tracks, find Mark Wakefield and make them sound like they did 10 years ago.

I've never quite been a fan of remastering or editing such as this, but I can see the time and effort put into such projects...

Since those crappy 92kb rips or whatever surfaced years ago, people have tried to make "cd quality" versions, but in my opinion, nothing beats the original. Once you alter it, it's no longer what it originally was.
