The New York Yankees' slumping slugger Alex Rodriguez departed Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays with left oblique stiffness and will have an MRI exam, the team said. The designated hitter, who missed the 2014 season serving a doping ban, was lifted with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning for pinch hitter Dustin Ackley with the Yankees trailing 7-1. The Rays went on to win 8-1.
