Yellowcard New Album

i had to go to wiki for this since the YCMB has been closed for the new albums release and band website update. anyways...the album is apparently called Paper Wall

 

"Paper Walls

On October 16, 2006, the band announced over their official website that they were back in the studio recording a new album. Guitarist Ryan Mendez posted on the official Yellowcard message board on October 21, 2006 that 3 songs are currently completed and states "I really think fans of both older and newer Yellowcard are going to be very happy."

Pre-production began in October 2006 and tracking began on January 2007. The upcoming record is targeted for Summer 2007, according to their Myspace page. But it also says in a new blog on the bands myspace that they think they could finish a bit earlier than they thought they would.

Studio footage regarding their progress is currently viewable on the band's Myspace, with a new video added every Thursday. As of January 2007, some sample demo songs have also been released on the band's Myspace, though they are only rough recordings from pre-production and not the final recorded versions. Also, as of January/February 2007, Yellowcard's home page has changed to a temporary layout, meaning they will be choosing an album and website design in the upcoming weeks/months. Yellowcard expects the album to be in stores this summer.

The first Yellowcard show since October of 2006 took place on March 29th 2007, at the Troubadour in Hollywood, California. At the show lead singer Ryan Key announced to a sold out crowd that the new album will be titled "Paper Walls". He said he will "probably get in trouble for this," but went on to announce the title anyway. During the show Yellowcard played two songs off their new album ("Fighting" and "The Takedown"). Yellowcard played an acoustic set the next night at the Troubadour and also played two new songs, "Shadows and Regrets" and "Light Up The Sky". "

 

im looking forward to this since this was the first band i started listening to after Linkin Park, iv heard the few demos replaces, its not so bad but im still on the fence as to whether im gonna like this album, i liked Lights and Sounds because it was a far cry from the punk/pop offerings of Ocean Avenue, but in saying that i enjoyed OA to, so as Sean and Mendez have stated on wiki/and the YCMB, with the fusing of 2 sounds for older and newer fans, this will be interesting, maybe not for everyone, but try to keep comments above the belt

Yellowcard should be shwon the redcard n should get out of the scene. Predictable teenage pop punk with little or no creativity, something to keep the kids quiet i guess

thas your opinion, others wont say the same thing but, LnS was not in anyway punk,get that right

in anycase, heres another example of a band being labeled something they feel they shouldnt be, ryans come out various times to say they arent a punk band, although theyv had punk influences theyve always been seen by their own fans and themselves as purely a pop rock band.

 

and anyways...this is to discuss the new album, not another chance to take another shot at a genre you dont like, dont like? dont post.simple

Fine if its pop rock, i dont dislike pop rock, pop rock can be genious. However if you wish to discuss a band you have to expect points of view from both sides.

 

But from what I have heard of them I dont think their pop rock... simple

their new song is up on myspace, iono what its meant to be, but its from the new album, and theyre playing it at live shows atm, whether its a single or not we ll see

 

the new song is called fighting, very "ocean avenue"

never liked them, just 1 or 2 of their songs are cool
