RoyalOrleans Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Soccer is gay. Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.
Hamza123 Posted June 10, 2006 Author Posted June 10, 2006 Soccer is gay. All sports are gay... Lol jk jk... I can see how you may not like it though. It may not be as hype as football but I like it. I like to watch Soccer, NBA Basketball and NFL Football, sometimes some tennis. Quote Taking it up the poopchute from Allah since 1990.
builder Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 The Aussies are in with a chance. Soccer is a game of skill. Australia have qualified for the 2006 World Cup after beating play-off rivals Uruguay on penalties in Sydney. Marco Bresciano's 35th-minute goal levelled the tie following Uruguay's first-leg victory, but neither team was able to find the telling breakthrough. Following 120 minutes of end-to-end action former Coventry striker John Aloisi scored the decisive spot-kick. Uruguay saw two penalties saved by Mark Schwarzer, and despite Mark Viduka's miss Aloisi saw Australia through. It is the first time Australia have reached the finals of football's premier tournament since 1974. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.
Gallytuck Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I'm stoked. Four years. It's too long. I support the Germans in international play. Just watched the Aussies pull it out of their arses and beat the Nips 3-1. The Yanks are playing in about 10 minutes. As soon as the whistle blows at the end of that one I'll be out the door and off to work. I'll have to watch the third match on ROD after work tonight. Quote
builder Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 It should have been 3 nill in the Aussies/Japan game. Anyone who knows the rules can see that Japan's goal was a foul. The Americans got done by the Czech Republic 0 to 3. Muahahahahahahahahaha:p Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.
builder Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Hah!! The referee in the Japan/Aussie match later apologized to the Aussie goal-keeper for not giving him a penalty when he awarded the Japanese goal. So Aussie win by 3 nil in reality. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.

Wow I know, the ref was so obviously in not calling a penatly I actually had to do a double take! England is looking sharp! I hope Ronaldo gets that old charm back into his game and I just want to see Kaka and Ronaldinho explode! Same with C. Ronaldo. Equador is doing quite well! Tim Cahill from Australia will lead his team into Quarter Finals I think. They're looking strong. I wanna' see some good play between Italy and America!! That should be a good game. builder Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Yeah, trouble is, most of the games are live at 2 am here, and I'm flat out with work at the moment. Have to settle for recording the game. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.
Gallytuck Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 The English finally scored a goal. Imagine that. The Netherlands match earlier today was pretty good. Gonna watch the German/Polish match on ROD later. Quote
Hamza123 Posted June 17, 2006 Author Posted June 17, 2006 Hey Gally thats the beauty of ROD!! ROD is Rogers on Demand of short. Rogers is a Digital Cable Company... Basically, you go to a channel and all the FIFA games are on there that you can pick and view any time... You can also go to http://www.worldcup.com and watch the highlights. Serbia and Montenegro got their asses handed to them by Argetina... 6-0.. Quote Taking it up the poopchute from Allah since 1990.
Hamza123 Posted June 17, 2006 Author Posted June 17, 2006 Oh here is a great video of Ronaldinho, dubbed my many as the best soccer player in the world. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/87520/ronaldinho_movie/ Quote Taking it up the poopchute from Allah since 1990.
Hamza123 Posted June 19, 2006 Author Posted June 19, 2006 Da Builda, how you feeling about the Aussie VS Bras Game? I think the Aussies played well. I am not one to just judge a team by how many goals they scored. Although Brazil won, I still think they both played equally, and I felt a bit of an edge come out of the Aussie team that I have never seen before. So many bad ref calls against the Aussies, even the Brazilians were telling the ref to go fuck himself. I think the penalties were 45 to ten against OZ. Appalling for a game played at that level. The Aussies aquitted themselves well, despite this unfair treatment. I heard if we beat the Czech Republic, or even draw with them, we're in the next round. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.

Australia is more likley to tie or win to the Czechs since their primary goal scorer is injured.. Ghana beat them 2-0! Quote Taking it up the poopchute from Allah since 1990.
Hamza123 Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 Aussies going to the world cup round of 16. That must make you proud builda. I know I would be. W00T! Brasil and Portugal are my teams of choice. I want to see the Netherlands get pounded by Portugal. Quote Taking it up the poopchute from Allah since 1990.

I want to see the Netherlands get pounded by Portugal. I was a bit dissapointed, actually Hammy. We shoulda trounced 'em. But,,,,,I'll take it anyway. You shoulda seen the streets, man. It was like we'd already won the cup. Mind you, It's the first time the Socceroos have made the second round, so if you're soccer mad, I guess that's the first hurdle crossed. I'd like to see Brazil and OZ in the final. Make up for that dismal ref call. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.

After all, the "round robins" are probobly the toughest hurdle of all. For my World Cup predictions, I actually have France and Australia in the final and my second picks were Brazil and Portugal. Here is some skill for you. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-343649580951788632&q=roberto+carlos Quote Taking it up the poopchute from Allah since 1990.
builder Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...roberto+carlos Now that is a kick. I think the US bias against the game is because Argentina and Brazil dominate the World cup. If you can't win it, call it bullshit, and let it go. It is a game of ultimate skill. What drags the game down, publicly, is the milking of penalties. There should be more use of the "third Umpire" like in the leagues Get the camera happening. Show up the milkers every time, and get that crap out of the game. And about fucking time too. Shame the fuckers out of doing it. It'll still happen, but not so often. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.

I think the US bias against the game is because Argentina and Brazil dominate the World cup. If you can't win it, call it bullshit, and let it go. It is a game of ultimate skill. Yeah, I agree! The USA is ranked 5th in the world yet they lost to Ghana 2-1, which is a team ranked 48th! What drags the game down, publicly, is the milking of penalties. Shame the fuckers out of doing it. It'll still happen, but not so often. YEP! I know what you mean. Like, I don't know why FIFA has 25+ cameras set up at each stadium, yet they won't use any of them to officiate the match!! I think actually using the cameras will cut of a lot of the bullshit. Quote Taking it up the poopchute from Allah since 1990.
builder Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 So the Socceroos get ripped off by yet another very poor reffing decision. Most dissappointing. I wonder when FIFA will catch up with the rest of the world, and start using technology to help the international profile of this game. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.
Hamza123 Posted July 1, 2006 Author Posted July 1, 2006 OMG BUILDA BRAZIL LOST TO FRANCE 1-0!! ENGLAND LOST TO PORTUGAL! It's utter madness. Quote Taking it up the poopchute from Allah since 1990.
builder Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 When they get some reality happening in the reffing department, I might start to get interested in the "results" Hamza. As it stands, the "winner" is the ref's decision. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.
James James Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Sorry for bumping the thread, but fuck it... I looked forward to this for about... 6 months. Really fucking hyped up for it, until I read that the referees were cracking down on any dangerous tackles. Erk... my balls. Sorry, but this was one of the worst tournements I've ever watched, and I watched Euro-2000 which had probably the worst matches ever. The refereeing was basically fucking terrible, stopping the players from sliding in with tackles, while also not doing anything to the divers and actors who were one of the biggest problems with this tournement. The match between Portugal and Holland was a fucking joke, the way Christiano Ronaldo got his own team mate sent off in the England - Portugal game was disgraceful, and the amount of diving and time-wasting Italy done was excruciatingly bad. Meh... I'm too tired to continue this right now... I'll finish off tomorrow or something. Quote
