RoyalOrleans Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Here is a concise, simple list of professions we dreamed about becoming when we were wee lads and lasses. When I was growing up, I always fancied myself as an international master of espionage and intrigue. I grew up watching the 007 movies with my oldman and brothers, thus I thought it would be a cool career. Tons of gadgets, get to wear a tux all the time, and the babes... ohhh... the babes. A license to kill.... I'd shoot a bagboy for crushing my eggs. Of course, I'm not British nor can I even fake an accent very well. The CIA would've been the American route, but nobody takes an agent with a southern draw serious. At least, that's what I was led to believe by my gov't teacher in junior high. As I grew older, I realized I'd rather wreck shit than acquire intelligence about it. So I became a Marine. Uh-Rah! Ehh... Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.
ToriAllen Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 First I wanted to be a Vet, which you don't have up there...Then I wanted to be with the FBI, which is not up there either, but I guess 'policeman' is the closest thing to it. Quote Smart men learn from their own mistakes; Wise men learn from others. I refuse to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

I said 'man' not 'woman'. Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.
jokersarewild Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Yeah, you forgot IT Technician and Network Administrator. Quote RoyalOrleans is my real dad!
RoyalOrleans Posted June 11, 2006 Author Posted June 11, 2006 Am I the only one around here that didn't grow up glued to the tube or the internet? You people are a bunch of marvellous fucktards. Get with the program. Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.
manicmonday Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 I grew up wanting to be a hairdresser, writer, restaurant owner, and accountant. I've done some of those now I'm starting my new career with being a writer. Quote The dick has no conscience and the heart has no rational abilities.
skategreen Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Survey seems slanted for "boys". None of my daydreams are listed. Sigh. Grade one - a pilot Grade 4 - a harpist. (yes, I wanted to grow up and play the harp. I wanted to "bring back the harp". I can't believe I used those words. Grade 6 - an airline stewardess (until my mentor mocked this) Grade 7 - a librarian Grade 8 - a teacher Grade 9 - a geologist Grade 10 - an author Grade 11 - a pilot who was also an author, summered as a librarian and had a great rock collection. and I still want to bring back harp. Quote The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings. - Buddha

angie Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 When I was little (like first grade) I wanted to be an archeologist and dig up dinosaurs. Then, a Marine Biologist cause' sharks are just so damn cool. Then, a spy. Still wouldn't mind it. I'm pretty goddamn nosy, and if people need info, they usually come to me. Perhaps a journalist job would be better loll. Komrade Vostok Hazard Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I think me growing up is kind of a lost cause. But anyways....For some reason when I was (REALLY!) little I always wanted to be a pilot. Then when I was about 12-13-ish I got hooked on watching WWE and partaking in backyard wrestling, so I wanted to be a Rassler. After I got out of that phase, I tried to go Military (actually I've been kind of obsessive with military bullshit all my life). However after I got a chance to try out for the reserves I blew the aptitude test and so that went bye bye:mad: Now here I am....working in a tool & die factory from 7:00-3:30 doing the same shit all day. Oh well. Eight hours later I can go back to my other job of being a professional slacker Quote All bullshit, No Business.
TheJenn88 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I, for my whole life, have been hooked on being a teacher. Of course, I also had the usual wants of some sort of doctor or scientist like half the other kids, but I never lost that want of being a teacher. However, in the past 4-5 years I have narrowed it down. I'm going to be a musician. And a teacher..teaching music (obviously). Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Dur. Sorta just shot myself in the foot on this one. Quote
ToriAllen Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 When I was really little I wanted to be an actress, until I discovered my stage fright. Then I wanted to be a Vet, until I found out I didn't get to keep the animals. Then I wanted to be in the FBI. Then I wanted to be a Psychologist in the FBI. Then I just wanted to be a Psychologist which evolved into wanting to be a Psychiatrist. I now I'm looking at Law again. Quote Smart men learn from their own mistakes; Wise men learn from others. I refuse to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.
TerroristHater Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I have always wanted to be a lawyer. I have been quoting laws since I was old enough to know that there were laws. I am still tenatively pursuing this today! Quote I'm not having a tantrum...I'm not...I'm not...I'm not...I'm going to sue your ass...whawwwwwwww. Iran's useless government will disarm or be destroyed. As a matter of personal preference; I prefer the latter. FUCK IRAN, FUCK TERRORISTS, AND FUCK ALL THOSE WHO SUPPORT THEM!!!
Lethalfind Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I've already said what I want to be...more importantly what I was out of life is Peace and Quiet... I think after nursing I am going to pursue being a Nurse Anethestist. I should probably learn how to spell that last bit... Quote I am a pathetic piece of shit leeching single mom.
