Debate This Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 [/url]AP - Consumer inflation registered another sizable increase in May, pushed higher by soaring gasoline prices. And most worrisome, there was further evidence that the jump in energy costs is beginning to cause more widespread inflation troubles. builder Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 The most noticeable effect of higher fuel prices is the shutting down of internal tourism, in Australia. Nobody is driving anywhere unless they have to. And that is fucking sad. Our gov needs to give up the cash cow, and bring our fuel prices in line with the rest of the west. We pay excise, and 10 % on top of that. Try $1.30 a litre, or around $7.50 a gallon. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.

When I was in the UK I was shocked at the gas prices. Quote I am a pathetic piece of shit leeching single mom.

If it cost $40 for a normal haircut, and 50 dollars for a hotdog w/ soda, $7.50 per gallon would seem like a bargain. But if that haircut only costs $10 and that hotdog w/ soda costs $5, then it is insane. I'm not saying that things are THAT expensive everywhere, or anywhere, it was just an example. builder Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Hence, the family Donkeys, right? We can all just shut up and quit whining now. 7.50 is NUTS. At the current exchange rates, the gallon cost in US dollars would be about $5.60. My pushbike gets much more usage now, and my hourly rate for work has just gone up to $50 an hour to cover the rise. The government couldn't care less, because the higher the price, the higher their cut gets. It stinks. I get to claim back my fuel costs, but shelling out for it is a pain in the arse. phreakwars Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 That is fucking insane, so it probably costs you about $150 to fill your (20+ gallon) tank !!! . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
builder Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I have a sixty litre tank, and it takes about 75 bucks to fill up. My old troop carrier would have cost about 270 bucks to fill, but it will travel for eleven hours non-stop. Like I said, while the gov is reaping so much in excise and sales tax on top of that, they don't give a fuck about anyone else. It's not as if they have to pay for fuel. Now why don't I feel guilty earning two grand a week? Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.

Hmmmmmm, haircut is between 7 and ten bucks for men. Hotdog and soda about 4.20, big Mac, fries and coke about 6.75. The fuel costs also spike dramatically, like ten cents a litre (50 cents a gallon) just before long weekends and school holidays. It sucks. I'm running cooking oil for a while to see how it works out. I get it for 20 cents a litre. Quote Persevere, it pisses people off.
snafu Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 yep it's gonna hit everybody hard. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06139/691432-28.stm I guess nobody wanted to fight for oil though. RoyalOrleans Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 To cut fuel costs, UPS should go back to horse-drawn carriages to deliver packages. What can Brown do for you?
