ParasiteGod Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/local/crime_courts/14814350.htm Last year, Hahn, a 26-year-old Los Gatos felon with a rap sheet full of residential burglaries, anonymously sent police some stolen photographs -- photos that showed a man molesting a toddler. Using the photographs, police found and arrested John Robertson ``Robbie'' Aitken. Last month, Aitken pleaded no contest to molestation charges and received a 30-year sentence. But Hahn, who was later arrested for a burglary spree after he turned in the photos, is facing a prison term that could be longer than Aitken's. The latest series of burglaries was Hahn's ``third strike,'' and prosecutors have decided to seek a life sentence. His trial could begin this month. Again, just a small piece of the article is included in this post. Anyway, what do you guys think about this article? Quote I want to report a double murder. If you go one mile east on Columbus Parkway to the public park, you will find kids in a brown car. They were shot with a 9mm Luger. I also killed those kids last year. Good bye Brooks, I like you. Joel12354 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 depends on if he turned them before or after he got caught, before sure lighten his sentence but if it was after.. I dont think he was intending on giving those photos to the police Quote
ParasiteGod Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 Well yeah it was before. I think compared to any form of sexual crimes against children, burglary is nothing. If I had to choose between a TV and the life/innocence of a child... I'd choose the child. I mean, this guy saved a little girl, and probably many other children. A deranged psycho is taken off the streets. Any debts Hahn might have had with Him, I'd think they're paid off. Did I just get semi-religious? 1 Quote I want to report a double murder. skategreen Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Send him away. Someone broke into my daughter's Vancouver apartment and stole the string of pearls I gave her for her 16th birthday. The loss wasn't the cost of the pearls. It was the loss of the sentiment. We've replaced the pearls, but they will always be "the pearls that replaced the one's that were stolen that she got on her 16th birthday." They also stole a family heirloom watch and a leather jacket symbolic of so very much for her. ....for this for the several times I've had break-ins.... for all the people he has hurt Send him away. I can't stand being robbed. I can't stand the bastards who do this. "small crime" that doesn't hurt anyone.... simply wrecks someone's day over and over and over again. They do it for a fucking living. Quote The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. Lethalfind Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I'm not sure the third strike law allows for leniency under those circumstances. If not then he needs to take the punishment he gets for the crimes he committed. I'm completely comfortable with the law being followed. Of course he did a good thing in helping the child however, with the same hands he broke the law over and over again, full well knowing of the three strikes consequences... Quote I am a pathetic piece of shit leeching single mom.
jokersarewild Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 From what I understand, he got arrested for TURNING IN the photo(s). That's bullshit. This is one of those cases where they should look they other way. The guy stole from a CHILD MOLESTER! CHILD MOLESTERS ARE SCUM WHO DON'T DESERVE TO LIVE! If he had stolen from anybody else, I would probably say throw him in jail. But this is a different story. Quote RoyalOrleans is my real dad!

I think the prosecutor needs to stop being an assclown. I would say the guy did the community at large and that child a huge favor. To prosecute him under the circumstances is just plain anal. Unfortunately, the legal system is full of useless jackoffs who only think of their conviction rating. This has the effect of making the state and the people look bad. I would have offered him probation with electronic monitoring for a period of time. I personally hope that prosecutor gets a napalm enema! ToriAllen Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 He should be prosecuted. Perhaps they will take his good deed into account when handing down his sentence. Doing what should be expected of any decent human being that comes across pictures of that nature doesn't excuse him of the crimes he committed. If being sentenced to jail time for crimes he committed discourages him from doing the right thing instead of discouraging burglary, well then, his mentality is too screwed up to be out on the streets anyway. builder Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 While I agree that burglary doesn't' even come close to the horror of sex-crime, I reckon burglars should be strung up by the balls, and left in a public place for a week, so anyone who's ever suffered the gut-wrenching insecurity issues that follow a home invasion and theft of personal property, can kick the fuck out of him. Perhaps so, but they are not. The prosecutor is seeking a life sentence. I think that they need to give him probation just this one time. In light of what he did for the girl, it isn't really fair to jail him for life. The prosecutor needs to stop being an assclown. Lets reward the man for doing the right thing dispite the HUGE risk of incarceration. Taking this into consideration when handing down the sentence? Since when does the Prosecutor determine the sentence? The prosecutor can seek whatever sentence he chooses, that doesn't mean anything. The sentence is determined by the judge or the jurors, not the prosecutor. Most criminals don't like molesters. Everyone has heard what happens to child molesters in prison. Does that mean every criminal that has sense enough to hate child molesters should be released? I’m sure the girl will be forever thankful to him, just as the victims of molesters who are in prison getting raped, will be forever thankful to the criminals making molesters suffer. He knew the consequences when he decided to break the law. You play the game, you get caught, and you have to face the consequences. This is not his first offence, and I seriously doubt it will be his last. We can reward him for doing the right thing by funding his education, giving him three square meals a day, free medical care, and free access to a gym. It’s obviously more than he has now or he wouldn’t be breaking into houses. Quote Smart men learn from their own mistakes; Wise men learn from others. skategreen Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 But Hahn, who was later arrested for a burglary spree after he turned in the photos, is facing a prison term ... The scumbag continued to burgle and was arrested for a SPREE. No perks, no favors, straight to jail. Keep him as long a you like. Lethalfind Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Is anyone here familair with the 3 strikes law? My understanding was that you can get a life sentence not based on one crime but that you have commited 3 crimes that fit a certain standard. I don't think misdemeanors count. I can't say I feel sorry for this guy, of course it was nice that he turned in the pictures but IF he is being thrown in jail as a 3 out of 3 crime spree, oh well...Maybe he should have thought of this eventuality earlier. Crime makes you stupid. Quote I am a pathetic piece of shit leeching single mom.
Joel12354 Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 really he should get full punishment hes done this ( and gotten only caught twice doing it) so he hasnt learned anythign he got caught again.. its not like that was the only house he robbed since his second strike lol... yeah he did a good deed, maybe he has a half way decent heart... but he still steals peoples shit so theres the other half:) Quote
atlantic Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 The smarter thing to do would have been for the burglar to send the pictures to police (assuming there were no prints on them) with a note and the offender's address, if there were prints he could have taken pic's of the pics and made sure there were no prints on the second set. snafu Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Life? I don't see life for anything but murder and rape. The molester should get life. this guy could've been the cause of a lot of deaths with the guns he stole. His intentions were to sell them I presume. But givin the good deed, and the publicity I think he should get a lighter sentence. It sounds like a lot of people are willing to help this guy. Sure, but the prosecutor could've have reduced the charges on this one so that the guy could avoid the 3rd strike. Sheesh!
