The Republicans who have voted in the primaries for McCain have shown

they don't give a fuck what Limbaugh says. The same is true for the

many Republican politicians who are now endorsing McCain.

 

Rush's 4 million are NOTHING in a national campaign; we do not know if

all of them would vote anyway.

 

Rush, like other ultraconservatives Republicans, are becoming

meaningless to the vast majority of Republican voters -- and thus they

will become increasing irrelevant to the Republican party.

 

Rush is going to be faced with either somehow supporting McCain if he

becomes the nominee or just shut up about him -- or talking himself

and his radio show out of business.

I divides the camp into the Bush conservatives like Coulter and Limbaugh

and the McCain Republicans. It frees the party to have opinions and

ideas and escapes the irrational emotions that has been so dominated by

the few. There is still that 25% conservatives that love the

divisiveness and believe they are defending some esoteric conservative

values, but even that group is getting wised-up that they have been

used. McCain at least can leave the party with some shred of dignity

with a small chance of winning. It allows some separation from

corruption and worse that Bush's presidency will be identified with.
