Me too, don't worry...i get people pissed off at me because if i drive by a person on a cell phone, i lay on my horn, drive by, and make a "hang up your phone" sign with my hand, and dont let off until they hang up...it's hilarious, but yes i think they should lose their license

Listening to the radio, having kids in the back, and being sick are huge distractions. Are you saying people with kids shouldn't drive?

Every idiot that I have seen swerving, weaving, and going ridiculously slow has been on a cell phone, with the exception of my grandfather (he just can't drive).

It's been an offence to drive while talking on the cell phone for ages in OZ.

There was talk of hands-free being banned too.

Strangely enough, CB radios don't carry the same penalties.

Persevere,

it pisses people off.

I use a Nextel two way radio through out my day to keep in contact with dispatch. I rarely use my cellphone while driving, unless I am on the expressway and there is little to no traffic.

As for others using their cellphone, go for it. The act really pisses me off, but what can I do? I bitch, I moan, a fling the finger, a throw some mean mugs, etc... everyting short of running them into a ditch and dragging them out of the car.

Will I used to talk on a CB for years. I don't care if they talk on the cell phone.

AS LONG AS THE ASSWIPE CAN DRIVE TOO!!!! You need to be able to multitask for Gods sake. And have to have your priorities in place.

Fuck even back then we knew to drop the mike if your going of the road!

If the person is calmly speaking and not really into the conversation that he/she is having, than I don't care.

I just wired a Bluetooth connection within my ride and when I turn on a feature called GOSpeak, I can hear the persons voice on my cell phone through my speakers within my car and I can also talk to them, lightly speaking. It's pretty good too since you can name it an all. For example, you could say, "DeVille (which is what I drive) Call mom"... and It will call my mother. Pretty sweet feature. If I ever get a GPS/LCD nav system installed, Ill be able to say things like, "Take me to McDonalds", and it will give me directions, and tell me when to turn.

I replied to this before but my post despaired. I must of messed up somewhere.

But what I said before was that I drove for years talking on the CB radio. I don’t have a problem with people talking on the phone as long as they KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!. If you can’t walk and chew gum you might not try talking on the phone while driving. Even when we talked on CB’s we had our priorities straight. We knew to drop the fucking mike if your going of the road!

It only pisses me off when they obviously can't do both at the same time.

I'd like to see the person that can do both at the same time. I haven't seen it yet. It is just another example of selfish behavior. I had another idiot today that was waiting to pull out of the school as I was trying to pull in. Unfortunately, she was on the cell phone and so, inadvertently, took up the entire entrance. She looked so confused when she saw me waiting to turn in. It finally donned on her that she was blocking me when I gave her an exasperated look, and put my hand up in an 'what the hell are you doing' gesture.

Then there are the people that are too busy messing with their phone to notice when the light changes. I would never talk on the phone and drive. I just don

I don't care if someone talks on the phone while they're driving. I have a problem with people who can't drive and talk at the same time.

I'm 17. I drive. I have a cellphone. I try to avoid talking and driving because I know that, as a young person, it's going to be harder for me to multitask that way. Sometimes, however, shit happens, and I end up on the phone and driving. Like I said on another thread, I usually only answer if I'm stopped, say, at a light or in a traffic jam. But sometimes the light turns green/traffic moves before I can say "HEY MOM QUIT YAPPIN I GOTTA GO."

So if you can drive safely while on the phone, the more power to you I think.

I want to report a double murder. If you go one mile east on Columbus Parkway to the public park, you will find kids in a brown car. They were shot with a 9mm Luger. I also killed those kids last year. Good bye

Brooks, I like you. Now get out of here. Go home.

There are definetly situations when I can't talk on the phone and drive at the same time and around town in traffic is one of them. If I have to I have pulled over and sat in a parking place to talk. I have to be on a road with little traffic around me to be able to talk and if there are alot of turns where I have to be aware of other cars then I don't do it.

There is no situation where you can talk on the phone and drive at the same time. Do you think it is safer because there are fewer cars? Your attention should be on the road whether there are cars or not. There are other concerns as well, such as animals and children. People survived just fine driving from point A to point B without talking to others before cell phones, I see no urgency now. When you get in the car, turn your cell phone off. The three times I have been almost run off the road, it was in light traffic. Don

Not unless they cross into my lane or stop short, some people can actually handle it others cannot like Snafu said. My son's paternal grandmother for example wears the headset for cellphone usage, but files her nails while she is driving on the highway (scares me to death to drive with her).
Do the right thing!

Next time she starts filing her nails you need to grab her nailfile and throw it out the fucking window.

When I am away from my daughter I NEVER turn my cell phone off...I have no intention of doing so. That was the whole reason I got the phone.

You would rather endanger the lives of other people’s daughters than turn your phone off. How very maternal of you. I wonder what you did before you got the cell phone. What percentage of the time do you use the phone because of emergencies involving your daughter as opposed to other types of phone calls? Nice try, but I’m not buying it.

I have never had a problem driving and talking on a cell phone, until it becomes a problem with my driving, I don't see why anyone should care...unless of course that person wants to force on everyone else their opinions. I just don't have the problem keeping my eye on the road and so forth that evidently you do.

How many people who drive drunk say that they drive great when they are intoxicated? Just because you haven’t been in a wreck yet, does not mean that you can talk on the phone and drive at the same time. No one ever notices the problems they have when driving while distracted. That is because you are too distracted to notice. Just wait until someone cuts you off and it takes you that extra few seconds to register what is happening because you were busy making a phone call. Or, perhaps someone’s child runs out in the road during one of those family walks out in the middle of nowhere. I have no problem keeping my eyes on the road, because, as I said, I do nothing that may distract me from the task at hand. I know exactly who is around me at all times, and I steer clear of idiots who think they can make a phone call and drive at the same time.

If I have a long drive on a quiet road I often take the time to connect with people that I want to talk to.

I thought you bought the phone incase someone needed to get in touch with you about your daughters well being. Doesn’t it kind of destroy the point of the phone if you are tying it up talking to someone else? Other people drive on those roads too. I’m sure a few families live on or near those roads, and animals cross those roads.

You must be one of those people who get annoyed when someone talks on their cell phone in a restuarant as well...whatever.

No, I don’t know of many people who are operating deadly equipment while they are in a restaurant, do you? I think it is rude to the people you are there with to be on the cell phone instead of interacting with them, but as another patron in the restaurant, I don’t care. It bothers me about as much as it would to have a person talking to someone who is there with them. If a person is loud and annoying than I get annoyed, whether they are on a cell phone or not.

Until it is shown to be a problem for that person then why do you care?

It is a problem for everyone. Until I see a study stating that there are some freaks of nature that can look at a cell phone and the road at the same time, or hold a cell phone and steer at the same time, then I will stand by the statement that cell phone use while driving is dangerous.

The road is unpredictable. If you are not comfortable using the phone in heavy traffic or when you have to make a lot of turns, then you should not use it while driving. You never know when you may have to swerve to avoid something or someone.

I had a customer service job once and it lasted all of seven days. That goddamn phone would not cease it's aggravating ring. I was fired for not being courteous to their dear, dear customers. These miserable pricks were being belligerent and irrational.

I told a dude to go fuck himself and I was let go. The manager had the audacity to tell me that I was being rude. The motherfucker said I had no business on the phone because of my Southern Draw.

So I told the manager to kiss my white country ass. He made a security shitheel walk me out, like I was going to do something stupid. The guard said that he was just doing his job. I responded, "Doing your job don't make you right. Get out of my way.".

How VERY controlling of you to think that EVERYONE should follow the same rules you have for yourself.

How VERY naive of me to think everyone has common sense.

If your so easily distracted that you can't multi task then, thats a crutch for you.
