No, I just want you to base your belief on reality, current law, past

experiences of other locations, and similar criteria.

If you review our exchanges, you'll find that you're the one using

personal attacks, insults, and anger.

If you want to get a law enacted you really need to be more articulate

and be able to express why the law is needed, exactly what it addresses,

and is it the best way to address the problem. Otherwise you're just

another nut trying to invoke an emotional response, creating a knee-jerk

reaction that doesn't address the problem.

Well yeah. How about San Bernardino, CA aka the 187 capital of CA. A town

of 250,000 where a day without a shooting is unusual, and a week without a

fatality from shooting is unusual.

The legal method of buying a gun involves your favorite one gun/month,

buying only guns on the state approved list, a mandatory safety certificate,

a 10 day waiting period, etc.

The problem is that these crimes are committed by people operating outside

the legal system of buying guns. Applying more constraints on the legal

system only punishes those who follow the rules.

What would be your solution?

Why would someone want to buy more than one gun per month? Besides, the

obvious answer "because I might want to"?

In case you forgot....

1. You apply for a CCW and you have to list the serial numbers on the

application for up to three guns. So you need to buy up to three at one

time, or wait 3 months.

2. You want to buy a gun that suddenly came available at a good price, but

you just bought a gun 3 weeks earlier.

3. You are a collector.

4. You want to give your sons matching guns for Christmas. ("Give" means

going with them to a FFL dealer and doing a face-to-face transfer, along

with all the paperwork.)

5. You bought a gun and had a problem with it. You want to replace it, but

it is already registered in your name. In this case, you are going to end

up with one gun, but it requires buying two within one month, and selling

one during the same month.

6. Your only CCW gun has a problem requiring it to be returned for factory

repair. You have just bought a gun for non-CCW use, and you want to buy a

2nd CCW gun.

7. You took up "Cowboy" shooting as a hobby, and you don't own any old

style revolvers.

etc, etc. etc.

Nope. You keep forgetting that the black market is alive and well in

Philly as well as any other state. Your one gun a month law will only

affect dealer sales and they are already monitored for multiple sales.

IOW, it will be a hassle to law abiding citizens who for some reason or

another wish to purchase more than one gun in a month. It will not

affect the criminal.

Nope, we are just trying to get you aimed in a correct direction. One

gun a month doesn't fix anything except to hassle law abiding gunowners.

Mirror, mirror on the wall. You should at least try something that will

To keep doing the same things over and over and over and expecting to

suddenly have a different result is the definition of insanity. One gun

a month has been looked at before (you aren't the first to stumble across

this idea) and it hasn't worked.
