Where the hell does that come from? What does it hurt if I take a day off work every now and then? I despise this attitude of working hard and always being there, even if you hate your job. What's the point of living life if we can't enjoy it now and then?

 

And yet someone feels they can look down their nose at me just because I take some days off? Bullshit, I say. Utter bullshit. Telling me to grow a pair just because you live in acceptance of whatever shit comes your way? If one has a way of avoiding the shit that stresses them out or enjoying their life a bit better by having one day off, where's the harm? Go figure.

Because for now, I need the money that this particular job brings in. I've got plans to move onto a better job in a place I prefer and then move onto studying, but that's in about 12 months.

Actually, I believe that people who need to fall back on drugs to make themselves better are weak.

 

I fuck up your economy? Well, for one I live in a different country so I can't see how that's fucking up your economy. And another, if anything, it's costing the company less. They actually plan for people to take days off, they have a few extra people on each shift to allow for sickness or absence. They do pay me for my days off, but much less than they would if I was actually there for the full day (and seeing as how I'm just a humble truck-driver there, I'm often spare anyway... which means I end up sitting there doing nothing at work even when I attend). So how exactly am I fucking up the economy there?

 

There's a difference between a work ethic and an insane acceptance of having to go to work every single day regardless of how you feel. Because I do my job well and I work as hard as I can when I'm there (which is the vast majority of the time). So how does that constitute continued laziness?

Hell, I have fucking nerve damage in my left arm, and I STILL work 12-14 hours a day, alot of times 7 days a fucking week (even holidays).. and run my own home business on top of that.

 

My WIFE even, works 10 hours a day, never calls in sick unless she REALLY REALLY is sick, and even then, I have to FORCE her to call in..

 

She gets 4 weeks of vacation a year, and the last 3 years now, she has had to cash in her vacation days because she would rather NOT take a vacation unless she HAS to, which would be during the company's annual shut down period.

 

And she fucking HATES her job !!

 

And, I can guarentee she works a hell of a lot harder then puss boy and his "OH SO ROUGH" job hauling a fucking dump truck.

I agree with working hard. I work 18 hour days with my home business. But that is just for money. I have never ever ever heard anyone say on their death bed "Damn, I should have gone to work one more day".

 

As far as your wife not taking her vacation, sounds noble. However, burn out happens and when it does, watch out. I find working hard a great personality trait, but not to the point of being a robot, machine, or lame ass fucker without a life.

 

I think you need to step outside Phreak and get a breath of fresh air. The fact that this guy taking a day off bothers you, means you are taking it a little too personally.
