tiredofwhiners Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Phreak check out the paper PEM is trying to run things again. I posted a comment we'll see how it goes. I hate this new system and now when we could use the forum its locked. God this pisses me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About the time you have people in power checking in and reading true thoughts, they yank the rug out. Quote AA's for quitters...i'm no quitter!

scout Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Lost me on that one, didn't see anything about them in the on line paper. Will be interesting to see what happened in the meeting tonight. Did Paulcans' comment surprise you about the funding? Did me a bit. Hmm, different angle ....... Taking bets? M proposal will get sent, I bet. Do you know who paulcan is, just curious. Quote
phreakwars Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 No idea who Paul is, but if I had to guess judging by his screenname, I would say he is Paul Canaday of 6566 Country Club Drive. That being the case, you could probably find some of his affiliations here: http://www.plattevalleyplayhouse.com/ recognise any OTHER names on that list ?? How much you wanna bet the message board will reopen now ?? I'll bet the M proposal gets sent too, because like I said, you know the fuckers will do what they want anyways.. Watch the ( majority )people vote it out again, and YET AGAIN the Council will bitch it is the fault of a few. BTW scout you didn't see the PEM post because it changes with the news and is not archived., but you can find it HERE: http://www.columbustelegram.com/articles/2006/08/04/news/news7extramile.txt and HERE: http://www.columbustelegram.com/articles/2006/08/06/news/news6danceclub.txt BTW, did anyone else catch that "M" proposal edit ? Originally it was : Phase 1 Construct a viaduct on 12th/14th Avenue and a pedestrian overpass at 25th Avenue in 2012 with the following crossings to be closed 12th Avenue, 25th Avenue and 27th Avenue. Phase 2 Construct a viaduct on 3rd Avenue and a pedestrian overpass at 18th Avenue in 2014 with the following crossings to be closed 3rd Avenue, 18th Avenue and 21st Avenue. Phase 3 Construct a viaduct on 23rd Avenue in 2016 with that crossing to be closed. But, if you look on the KLIR 101 website, you will see it reads the following: LOCAL: Tonight's the night. The Columbus City Council will receive a resolution tonight from City Administrator Joe Mangiamelli, proposing that talks with the State Roads Department and UP Railroad move forward. The 2 entities are receptive at this point in time to helping fund the majority of the costs associated with building 3 viaducts and 2 pedestrian overpasses, estimated at 20 million dollars. Tentatively, construction on Phase 1 at 3rd Avenue could begin in 2012, Phase 2 at either 12 or 14 Avenue in 2014, and Phase 3 at 23 Avenue in 2016. Approval of the project itself will not be a part of tonight's meeting, but a vote by the council against further talks would essentially halt the issue for now. Tonight's meeting is at 7 pm in the council chambers. Interesting !! Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
scout Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 That is interesting. Maybe they are listening to the public a little. Well, maybe....... PEM is a joke. All I can do is shake my head. Quote
tiredofwhiners Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 The KLIR proposal is the one i heard. That was the same one they had last time. Quote AA's for quitters...i'm no quitter!
scout Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Read the links. They put it in the proposal now anyway, voted on at the meeting......jeez. I've been a bit depressed lately so have been shooting off my mouth on the paper cuz JD just pisses me off. Now comes Bulkley, my God, what a lump. With him as the head of the viaduct committee no wonder nothing has been getting done. So paulcan is impressio or however you spell that. Do you guys have any suggestions as to where to start searching for viaduct, Northern Arterial and Columbus/Bellwood road plans? You seem to know the names of some of these companies and such that the city would be dealing with. Did you read the story about the cat that was left outside the Platte Center shelter? She's laying in my lap. She's a sweetie. Walks around like she's drunk. Don't know if that will get any better. If not it's OK, this way I can keep up with her! But otherwise she is a normal cat with a good attitude. Now she needs a new name. Chance doesn't seem right. Quote

I think the paper should do a follow up, that a local forum (RIP) active member adopted the cat. Hey what ever happened with the teen night club deal. I never saw anything on that, but was out of town Tues-Wed. I did a search but nothing came up new? Quote AA's for quitters...i'm no quitter!
phreakwars Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 Congratulations on your cat. It will probably always walk sideways, probably had it's little spine crushed too... but anyways... The council approved the club thing 7-1, Jareke was the one who voted against it. Any of you guys know how to contact the Cunninghams ?? Gambinos wants to help them with the teen nights, and niether I or Josh can find them. . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
scout Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 They OKed the dance club deal! How about that. If the story isn't about the viaduct the on line moves it on pretty quick. Check the link about all the local news and sometimes it's still in there. The forum thread was on there last night and the, what do you want to see downtown thread too. But they're gone this morning. I'm going to do a search on the Telegram, see who owns it and such. It was talked about before but I've forgotten. Well, I should get on the phone and see if the vet can tell some more about my new friend. She's already helping me out of my depression, I hope I can help her as much. Thanks on the cat. Thinking about calling her Shade, because of her coloring and her neurological functions are a little shady. Quote

Thanks on the cat, she must have gotten thumped pretty hard right between the ears. Quote
tiredofwhiners Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Anybody heard where the club is going? I don't know the people, but do back them. And it really does not matter what Jareckie does he's an idiot, who is on the council by default. Quote AA's for quitters...i'm no quitter!
phreakwars Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 OK ... WHO SHIT IN THE WATER PARK ?? LOCAL: Swimmers were asked to leave the Pawnee Plunge Water Park last night about an hour and 45 minutes before closing. City Public Works Director Chuck Thomerson says a swimmer defecated in the children's area. This area was closed around 7 o'clock. The children's area is separated logistically from the pools at the bottom of the water slides, but all of the pools use the same filtration system. The decision was made to close the entire park for the evening around 8 o'clock. Those who had entered the park after 7pm were given twilight passes to use on a future occasion... THAT'S FUCKING NASTY !!! . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
tiredofwhiners Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Yes it is....I just posted that the comment section is a JOKE. We'll see if it gets in. I posted on the Shilling article about 7:00 just after the post ditching Phreaks post, and it still isn't on line. I told them if they can't do the comment section right don't do it at all. And i was about done posting if they don't get the forum back up, because Hot Topics does not work and is hard to use. Quote AA's for quitters...i'm no quitter!
scout Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 tired - article in the papers achieves says -Cunningham said she and her husband, Reeve, wanted to open a dance club at 2521 11th St. and provide a non-alcoholic atmosphere for teenagers to socialize. If you go to the news tab and click on the Hot Topics some of the old threads are there. I see JD has been deleting posts again. The one about the train counting. Southsider asked how he was going to award a prize if he wasn't having anyone logging in. Took the 2ND time for me to post my question and ask why it wasn't posted the first time to get it on. Haven't found the Cunninghams yet, but I'm looking. "Shade" sleeps best if I'm touching her so we're kicking back again today till she feels more confident. Quote
tiredofwhiners Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 How come Jimmy Dean never answers me? He always answers Scout. Maybe i write rhetorically. Quote AA's for quitters...i'm no quitter!
scout Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Probably because I've been more vocal than you have. But I'm tiring of that and feel like doing other things now. Shade has been good for me. Have seen some small improvements in her too. What is at 2521 Th St.? With the gas prices and owning a Scout, among other things, I don't cruise around much. Isn't there a antique store around there? Oh, maybe the old Grieners building right next to the tracks. Quote
phreakwars Posted August 11, 2006 Author Posted August 11, 2006 That's right next to Oppy's Bar, not much there at all really. . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
scout Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 In the paper comments today - popeye wrote on August 11, 2006 9:43 AM:"Cunninghams own Fitness Quest. You can find Reeve there. People offering help??? Or looking for a job?" Quote
phreakwars Posted August 12, 2006 Author Posted August 12, 2006 Yeah, we got there home phone # and cell number now, we will be contacting them later in the week. . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
phreakwars Posted August 14, 2006 Author Posted August 14, 2006 It's almost TOOO fucking funny... JD has resorted to making up stories to get people talking in the HOT TOPICS column.. Like saying he called Gambino's for a breakfast pizza, and allegedly "I" had sent him to Hy-Vee.. I asked everyone who works there... they never got such a call about breakfast pizzas.. And then there is his nice tall tale about seeing 3 drunk drivers in a row... http://www.columbustelegram.com/articles/2006/08/14/hot_topics/news1abeer.txt I won't even respond to the Drunk Driving topic because of that... it's utter bullshit and everyone knows it !! . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
tiredofwhiners Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 When i read that i thought the same thing. Whats the deal with having to make up lame topics? Open the damn forum and we'll give you shit to work with. I'm did'nt post i'm tired of the "hot topics" hassle. And whats the deal with maybe opening the forum at the end of the month? wtf Quote AA's for quitters...i'm no quitter!
scout Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I've blown off the Telegram for the most part. The mans a sad joke. Can any of you tell me where to look to find out back ground on our city leaders and business leaders? I want to know, for one thing, the reason for the 23rd Ave. viaduct. What Buckly does when he's doing nothing., ect.... Quote
scout Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Hey guys check this out. I don't see any plans for a Northern Arterial in the near future on this NDOR link. But shows there is a plan for a bridge or bridges between now and 2011. Huh.http://www.nebraskatransportation.org/hwy-pgm/pdfs/d3map.pdf Just thought it was interesting. But then just about anything this time of morning is. Have a cricket in my bedroom that followed me back out to the living room. Bugs suck. Quote
